The show is called Stargate. The idea they got from FS2 wa the sun blowing up to destroy the entire fleet of bad guys ships:D. It looks just the same, sun exploding, swollowing up planets, destroying the huge Motherships. Just for you to know, it is on Sci-fi channel and if you have Direct TV or Dish, The episode is called Exudous (or something like that). It usualy On that episode once every two months, so keep your eye out. :D

Supernova? I know, I am a huge fan.

Supernova, you need to learn a little thing called sarcasm. Shadow's post was utterly reeking of it.
::shows off his melted Sarcasm Detector™::
ShadowWolf: Oh, that's a really useful machine!
::detector explodes::
-
Good glayvin!
-
sweet mother of sarcasm :p
-
Teal'c: Indeed
:p
-
you guys wouldn't happen to be talking about Stargate SG-1, are you? I LOVE that show!!! it r001z!
-
No, this is a different show entirely...
-
Dammit, Raa... you made my second detector scream. ;)
-
i can't tell if you guys are being sarcastic or not.
-
-
this
is
stupid.
but i like it :D
-
Btw, I wouldn't say that Stargate got the idea from Freespace. One could just as easily say that the idea came from the Empie Rising trilogy of SW books (or whatever it was called), where the Sun Crusher takes out Admiral Dala's fleet . . . oh wait, nevermind that's the Jedi Academy books I think. I never read the ones with Thrawn in 'em.
-
I would like to ask, first of all, supernova_989 - - - - - - - how old are you? If you're in your pre-teens or early teens, then this is understandable. But if you're late teens/early twenties/or older, then this is unacceptable.
But this thread is funny anyway. Carry on. Also, shouldn't this thread be moved to Hard Light General Forums?

well, if he wants to make a campaign out of it, this would be the perfect place.
AA, what you're talking about is Star Wars: Champions of the Force. Kyp Durron blows up the Cauldron Nebula to destroy Admiral Daala and her two Star Destroyers. But at the last minute Daala jumps out. One Star Destroyer is destroyed, Admiral Daala escapes with a heavily scarred and battered Star Destroyer. how did i get this so perfect? I have the book. :p
-
There are already Star Wars and StarGate Mod projects in development so we really don't need another one.

That's because you're not in the Museum of Tolderance yet.
...Wait, why is the museum of 'Tolerance' filled with examples of intolerance? :wtf: That doesn't make sense.
Anyways :p In Star Trek 7 a sun was blown up too.
-
:wtf: huh? which star trek? original, the motion pictures, next generation, voyager, DS9, or the movie Star Trek: Generations? Be more specific man!
-
Star Trek: Generations, the movie with Kirk, Picard, and Harriman. :p
-
He's right.
Sucks how Kirk died, though.
-
Well, who'd want to spend an eternity chopping wood?
-
Oh yeah. you know, Kirk never really died. (at the end of the movie i mean) he just lost conscience. there's a book written by william shatner that comes after ST: Generatons. he comes back after a virogen starts devastating system after system. in that book he gets re-united with spock (who takes is father's place after his father dies from a rare Vulcan disease called the Bendii syndrome)

You're joking, right?
So he fell down a clift, talked, then fell over. Then Picard, not checking his pulse, carried him up, and buried him, not feeling his heart or checking his breathing. Then, Kirk, after surviving the weight of about 100 large stones on top of him, suddenly lifted said 100 stones off of him, after about a day or two underneath them in the boiling sun, walked off, and did what?

I think cobra is one of those rare members that pops out of nowhere, gives us a couple of laughs and just leaves (hopefully).

Nah, I saw the back of that novel too. It burned my hands when I picked it up. Apparently Kirk comes back as a borg working on the side of the romulans, I kid you not:
FROM OUR EDITORS (http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?endeca=1&isbn=0671568485&itm=6)
The Borg and Romulan Empires have joined forces against the United Federation of Planets--and their ultimate weapon is James T. Kirk, resurrected by a mysterious alien science to destroy the Borg's hated enemy: Jean-Luc Picard, captain of the starship Enterprise. "
-
No, what happened was a cloaked Romulan warbird entered the system and destroyed the rescue ship there. Then it beamed up Kirk's remains (he was dead). He was resurrected using an alien machine the Borg had obtained (The Borg and the Romulans were working together). Then, to gain his help, the Romulan who was chiefly responsible for him had sex with him in the holosuite, to convince him that they were married, and their children had been killed by Picard. :p
-
.........
EDIT: Forgot to ask if there was a point of this thread otherwise it's:

no, japong, i have the friggin book. although i haven't read it in a while. IIRC, it was in a dream or flashback. And in the book, he says "well, i guess you didn't bury me right (or something like that) to Jean-Luc when he sees kirk again...

At least in some strange way, this makes more sense than "he was unconcious and woke up two days later" (as basically posted by Cobra).
