Okay before you see the 2 pictures and saying "Nothing very impressive", I must say these are my 2 first wallpapers for FreeSpace Source Code Project. I used GIMP to do them, so there are no 3D rendering. I wish I had ship models to insert, but I don't. Now you must say "Why are you posting them anyway?". Only to get comments, good or bad. I draw a lot on my computer (most of them are space scenes) and I need your opinon. I also drew 1 ship model with classic pencil and paper since I don't know 3D modeling.
Here are the 2 wallpapers. One in 800x600 and the other one in 1024x768. I will remove them in approx 1 or 2 days since I don't want to take too much place on the server. Enjoy!

I lieks the first one better.
-
I like them both, but the first one is very good .
-
Agreed. The, uh, swirly thing is very nice. Would you be able to do one in green? That'd fit the FS colour scheme better. But yeah, they're pretty damn good. You should submit them to the "picture of the day" thingy on the front page of HLP. :)
-
Thx y'all! I can do one in green and I wish I could post it for the pic of the day. But I don't have enough place in the server to do it! So it's only 2 pics at a time. Once I remove those one, I'll post another pics!
-
:) i like them.

1st is the best indeed.

I like the blue, it's like subspace.

You're right! That's the effect I wanted to create! Btw... I checked photobucket and unless I reduce quality of the pictures I wouldn't be able to post them :( ! But don't worry I will post other ones later!

Thx for the links but i will be fine! It's just that I can post only 2 wallpapers at a time! So when I'll show you my next pics, those one will no longer be there, unless the other ones are not do big!

You actually run your desktop at 800x600?
...and I thought everyone was using 1600x1200 these days...

1280x1024 > *
(and dont give me all this elitist aspect ratio crap)
-
Same here, anything bigger just makes the icons too small.
-
too much non monochromatic noise on the first one :)

Here's an idea since you're server is slow even on my cable line, use the lvlshot tags to display the art and then if someone wants them then they can click the image and get the fullsize version.
-
first is much better than second:nod::yes:
-
Thx again! Yea I work on a 800x600 resolution. I will be on 1024x768 soon when I'll switch to Linux!

How do I do that?
-
[*lvlshot]image adress[/*lvlshot]
without the *
-
Thx! I'll try this when I post future pics!

You do realise lvlshot only reduces the image display size*, you're still downloading the full-res-image?
*i.e. as in the WIDTH attribute in the HTML IMG tags.

Well at least it will fit the screen :p
