Title: From my sketchbook
Post by: Unknown Target on December 31, 2004, 12:16:46 pm
Two things I drew last night:

Out of my head:

A concept sketch for my air racing mod idea (someone want to help? :D)

I like! The one on the left is your "penis fighter", is it not?

That reminds me of the Hollywood race from Crimson Skies - lots of fun. Would be cool, but it's kind of hard to do in FS - speeds are too absolute. They're not affected by attitude or turning.

I'd love to play a game like that though - sort of like a fully airborne Wipeout...

Lol, thanks :D And...*sigh* Yes, it is the penis fighter :D
I'd really like to do this for something like Half Life 2 or something with a good sense of speed....Freespace 2 would be good, but you're right about the speeds being absolute (unless a bored coder wanted to change that :D). I'm trying to assemble a team if anyone's interested at all :)

Heheh, I dind't know what else to call it ;).

As with your other projects (how's that Doom 3 thing coming along anyway?), I'd love to contribute, but I have neither the time or the skills to be of any help. :(

The Penile Fighter strikes again!!:D
Seriously, i like the idea. But i wouldn´t touch the HL2 engine with a 10 foot dildo. Try using the Unreal engine, has better possibilities, and is way faster.
If you need help modelling the little suckers, count me in.

Can you texture? :)

And more images from my book of sketches (sorry, the colors are off, I didn't correct them):

Third one :yes: Could do with some tidying up on the right arm and shoulder (his right) - it's kind of hard to make out the exact shape at the mo. Also, some detail on the rocket pack thingy would help - it took me a moment to figure out what it was. I think colouring it would help - the shading is kind of indistinct as-is. :)

Well, no... :nervous:
Actually, i´m learning, and i´m getting better. Just let me know what kind of racers you want, and i´ll cook up something to show you.
I need size, speed, engine number?, type of flight, whatever ingredients you think a racer should have.
I assume you are basing it somewhat on the StarWars pod racing, really close to the ground, right?
:p

Nuh uh, there's racing in space and close to the ground :)
Try making something sleek and fast-looking, but unique and stylis. Look at old racng planes if you need inspiration.

those are pretty cool, UT, you certainly have a better eye for mechanical objects than myself (i'm working on solving that)

More stuff! :)

This is a wip desktop for a female friend of mine (she likes fairies :D)

(image linked because of a tiny bit of barely recognizable nudity, but I figured better safe than sorry): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/UnknownTarget/DSCN1696.jpg

And this is a re-do of an older picture that I had in a dream one time, also linked for the above reason:
