Still under construction, but here is a wip shot.
I"m changing the ribs, and improving the shield textures and landing bay details right now.

the model itself is quite, good, but waaaay too overtiled. That, and the textures aren't that good.
But still, A+ material right there. :yes:

Your eyes must be tricking you:) There is no tiling, but the blast shield textures are crap, its why I"m re-doing them.
For some reason, the bumps didnt work right with the light tracer, have to look into that.

Ya, and I hate that, the old bsg ships had defined detail, like you could make out parts of the greebles, the nbsg ships are really just a mess of detail... I tryed to simulate it as close as I could in a good time frame.
I could make the hull textures.. main and blast.. even more detailed but then we are moving from a few days to a few weeks if not more of tweaking time.
Maby if I was getting paid lol, but i"m not about to spend weeks on a ship lol

I'd suggest actually simplifying the texture slightly. The one on the armour plates is too similar to the base hull texture. Make it plainer or smoother, to differentiate between the two. Or change the colour - make it lighter or darker than the base - a bit of contrast would help it no end.

As much as the texture looks "all the same", that's a good thing, IMO.
Think about it for a bit. After all, isn't most military equipment essentially all one color?

Yes, but there's always lots of details. This tries to put all the details in a repetitive texture, and it looks ugly as a result. Besides, this isn't exactly realistic, is it? A realistic military vessel would be either entirely black, or would have a mirrored hull to deflect lasers. It would look fugly as a game model though...

The lower hullplating could definately use a texture that doesn't tile as much. Other then that, nice. The fighterbays look very nice.
Anyway, a fan design or something actually in the new series?

Although, you might want to get rid of the bird poop on the right side... ;)
(I'm sure it's an emblem of some sort, but I'm not a BSG oldtimer and not catching it...)
