Title: it's quiet...
Post by: Turnsky on January 01, 2005, 07:40:26 am
why all the silence here?.. i realise you guys must be busy, but, can't you at least give us one little sign that this project is still relatively alive? :)

Uhhh all the recent topics aren't enough? :)

(what in the heck did I press...if someone gets an automated message, please disregard!)

We're beta testing...thats about it.  Not really much to show in the way of screen shots or the like right now.  Not too much has changed.  Just fixing spelling, fixing play balance...done when its done.

The project is dead, we're not working on anything.

It's all over. Don't expect this to be released. Ever.

well, since you're beta testing, that means it's largely finished, therefore, can we expect release in the next few months?...
Title: it's quiet...

Yes. Next few double digit months.

Keep dreaming. It's not going to happen.

Ever.

Started beta testing E1M15 now.  Work progresses.

You'll play it twice sunshine, that's the point :p

You decide for yourself which is the correct one to join though.

The choice had better be done cleverly.  I don't want to see "Press 1 to go with the GTVA; press 2 to go with the SC." :p The SOC loop screen would be better but unoriginal.  What would be really cool is if you could make the choice in-mission by how you handle some major event.

You wouldn't. It ends here.

No, no, you see the way we did it was that for the choice mission, you have Drone A and Drone B, and the whole mission otherwise is blank (no stars and backround, etc.).

After you get into the mission, you destroy either drone A or drone B, and that's what decides which side you're on.

I eat shrooms for breakfast.....or was it dinner

By the way, you're the freaking admin. You have access. Just download?

It is. A remarkably simple little moral dilemma, similar in some ways to something that occurs in FS2.

Also who said that the mission branches included the GTVA as a side? ;)

I kind of like that Drone A/B idea.  Possibly some material for another spoof campaign. :p

Post by: Scuddie on January 12, 2005, 03:01:03 pm
Uhhh...  I dont know if you guys remember this or not, but in the Black Horizon campaign for FS1, the way you chose which side you were on actually had some meaning to it.  Perhaps something like that would suffice.
Title: it's quiet...
Post by: BlackDove on January 12, 2005, 03:53:56 pm
No, no. We'll upgrade the drone thing by replacing them with two Terran Crates. It's too troublesome if they move.

Yes, that's what we'll do.

We are all old men here.

Actually... I remember the first I ever played of FS was the Freespace 2 demo... The beauty of it just... won me over. Especially when I got the Perseus. Think of the graphics then, before SCP HTL and everything :ha:

Those Awakenings days were quite something too.

Um, no. :wtf:

Deus Ex Machina was written for FS2 retail, so it should work when you run it on retail with no other mods installed.  What probably happened was that you used fs2_open and ran into a rendering bug, or you had incompatible mods.

Either that or you had adware (which is different from viruses).  Try scanning your computer with Ad-Aware or Spybot.

And FYI, I didn't write Just Another Day.  That was Axem. ;)

Right...

Well, you have a choice.  Keep the spyware, and the programs that use it -- or have a computer that runs fast, doesn't crash, and doesn't produce crazy errors like this.

It's your choice. ;) But if you choose to keep the spyware, then don't blame your problems on other people's campaigns.

Retail campaigns run in FSO too.  But because FSO is experimental and uses more graphics-intensive stuff, it's more likely to be affected by spyware.

In my opinion keeping spyware/malware on your comp is like keeping an armed nuke in your back yard. Kill that **** man....before it kills you!
Title: it's quiet...
Post by: Goober5000 on January 20, 2005, 09:16:09 pm
It was written for retail.  It's worked fine on my computer and every other person's computer that can run FS2.

Get rid of your spyware. :p
