Still very much a WIP. Requires Engione nozels, some detailing and a major tidy up. I fancy doing some proper (ie; effective) weapons for the two large rotating turrets.

I take it you're going to add some point defence turrets as well? Either that or yuo're going to have to make those big guns very effective against small ships. Though I don't suppose they were that good in HW, they killed fighters in a shot or two if they actually hit (IIRC).
Excellent work though - make sure the textures look good :nod:

Guess I'll have to add point defence turrets. I fancy giving it shields too. Just for a laugh more than anything.
The big guns (I hope) will be like an alternative to beams. They're not going to be standard FS blob turrets, more like the HW-Cataclysm turrets.

Yeah, some kind of heavy projectile would be cool. For point defence, just dot some Prometheus turrets around it.
Actually, this would be really good for that "alien ship" I'm looking for in that other thread. Any chance? :D

oh, well, since I know nothing about modelling, this info comes as no real surprise to me, I guess. Good work, by the way. Dunno why, but I always liked the Skaal-Tel...

homeworld ships can NOT be smoothed. hiigaran ships sometimes have a few curves, but they are overall quite angular.
tis a good piece of modelling, but it killed the spirit of the skaal-tel.

oversmoothed homeworld ship...NO. boxy homeworld ship with details YES:)

:wtf: it's not that smooth. All I've done is round off a couple o' edges.

On the plus side, I've got the weapons sound effects ready to use.

just make the corners sharper. there are bunches on ways to smooth things in Max, hopefully you used one of the ways where you can just change the tension by entering a higher or lower number. try it at twice as sharp as you have it at now.

Ahem! Didn't someone already make a FS2 variant of the Taiidani Destroyer? (I didn't do it...)
I think it's a cruiser named the Hyperion.

Roanoke had one too few i's, you had one too many. it's Tiidan, with two i's.

I think it's the front end, where the nose is recessed. The rest isn't all that different. Gonna see what I can do about reshaping the frent end.

Well you're working on converting Homeworld ships to Freespace. Why not do a few more and get yourself an avatar for your trouble :D

Hmm. Still finding my feet in Max and I can't texture for s**t (as yet). Not sure if I'd be any use to you.
Maybe I could help out (Unoffically, I 'spose) in the meantime ? I'd certanly wanna work on TAP.
As for the Destroyer, I'm starting again. 'spent all day tryin' to fix it up but the mofo is a friggin mess, especially the nose.

More than most of us in TAP can say. I'm decent with Lightwave, but not in the modeling department. Offer is open. PM me if you want in. We can get someone else to texture if we have to.
