Did a search on the forums and can't find any old topics about it so...
Found this game while doing some random search on space sims:

The screenes looks interesting though. I'm now downloading the demo.

Pretty effects, but has the ugliest ships ever.
And look! even THEY have a cockpit! :p :D

Hmm, screenies arent really that impressive, except for the backgrouds which are spectacular.

Freespace and WC4 are the only space games without cockpit,every othergame has it.:nod:
The textures are uglee, but the ship designs themselves are nice.

screenies look pretty nice except for that starfighter. I wuldn't want to be restricted 1 ship either (a couple more isn't much better)....and there is so much blue!

Just played a few mintues of it. Love their radar system very intuititive but I agree the textures are ugly :P. Seems like good fun on the first few minutes though.

It kept stopping every two minutes or so to "reload graphics and gameplay features".
It'd be nice, except for that. So, :no: from me.

fun game. IIRC its a few years old, and its by an INDEPENDANT game developer.
demo was fun-ish, but im not really interested...

Good lord that HUD is hard on the eyes.

Ship models are utterly, utterly awful. I realise it may be an indy developer, but it's not like there's a shortage of people who can make and texture ship.

Not even texture, the ship models themselves suck.
It's ok...but the AI is really annoying, especially when they keep flying in front of you. At least in Freespace 2, it's not deliberate: your buddies actively fly around and behind you. In this, anyway you move they move to stay in front of you.

That HUD looks absolutely full of wasted space and color. Way too prominent.

multicolored HUDs > monochromatic HUD's
The gauges are too big, but I like the general style a lot.

The whole HUD is this massive over-cluttered mess, I don't like it at all.

Read the game's story. Replace "Vonari" by "Shivans" , "Federation" by "NTF" and we have Freespace 1 & 2 in short story.
Demo is quite intersting... have a specific atmosphere of garage-made game. But I agree that ship design is totally ****, as well as the HUD.

Actually I prefer multicolored as well. However those HUDs are too bright and flashy and take up too much room. A HUD should provide as much information as required while taking up a minimum of the play area.

Also, look at the weapons names: Maxim, Rockeye... sounds familiar, huh?:lol:

To be fair, Maxim & Rockeye are the names of existing / previous weapons anyways.
