Not bad!  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

What program did you use to render?

This sun is great! How did you do it?

Rendering was done in Truespace 4.2, all lighting and ship positioning and i used a flat light grey backgroud.

Image was then opened in Adobe Photoshop 4 where I removed the model image from the grey background and pasted them onto a Glittero made backdrop.

The sun was created using Axion's Flare Effects 2.0 plug in for Photoshop.

The engine glows on the Athena MK II's was first done by a light blue airbrushing on low pressure then a smaller white airbrushing and lastly ran through Axion Glow and Sparkle 2.0 plug in.

That enough info?  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

No wonder your ships look like you cut them out from paper and pasted it. Why don't you try rendering the entire scene with the background too?

TS screws the effects EVERYtime  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Besides sometimes the ships aren't the foreward most layer on the image, if I did it all in TS they would be.

Now if I can find a plugin that allows TS to render into PSD format for photoshop I'll be in love  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

You could render the scene with the background and then add effects.

Like I said above if I render the BG and then do the effects the effects are added as front layer and I wouldn't be able to place them behind the models.

Why use a grey background? I'd think something like bright green might work better- greater contrast between ship and background, so it might work better when imported into Photoshop.

Did that once, then you end up with a nice bright green aura effect  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Some reason the all mighty magic wand won't grab every square. So I use a less noticable color so that if a few pixels aren't removed it's not as standoutish.

Belive it or not I did this on all the Images for my custom fighter, the one GAG made to be the Viper MK II from Battlesatr Galactica.

None of you noticed it then  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)   lol
