Title: Unwrapping textures?
Post by: Swamp_Thing on January 05, 2005, 01:41:12 am
Suppose i was to tile texture a model, and then wanted to use the result as a template UV map, to fine tune it. How can this be done?
Or more simple, how do i turn a tile job into a texture map?
I would rather the replies to be for Truespace, but 3DS Max will do fine aswell.
Anyone?

Texture baking then unwrapping may work but I very much doubt it.

Trashman does this for his fighters - ask him. Alternately, you can surface bake it, but I won't retend to know exactly how you would go about doing that.

baking is easy. getting decent results is hard.  You tend to get tons of snippets.
