Ok, my dad and I bought a website for his store. ITs supposed to be //www.woodentoyandgift.com, but the DNS is still in the proscess of switching over (i entered the wrong one the first time)...
Anyway, 66.195.240.95 is the IP I use to login to the FTP... But when I go to http://66.195.240.95 , I get a pr0n site :shaking: ... DEFINATELY not the temporary page i've uploaded...
Is it possible for them to be different? I can login fine with MY username and MY password, and it gives me folders for email forwarding and ftp accounts when logged in, and everything else in the ftp is normal, but the site displayed... Well, I'm afraid that when the DNS is switched, the url will redirect to the pr0n...
Please tell me good news...

Edit:
You're on shared hosting. The IP just refers to a server, with the username giving you access to a specific directory on that server,
Try http://66.195.240.95/~username
-
so even though the DNS would have accepted either the IP or the DNS address, it'll switch to the right one?
-
Erm, maybe. It looks like your host hasn't given you the right IP for the individual site, and thus the wrong one for the domain redirect... so....
I'd make sure you get the right one or you could be having some unwanted custom
-
-ers. please spell right,...
-
I wasn't meaning "customers. I was meaning he would recieve unwelcome custom, as in unwanted business.

I've had little luck with trying to find any account of recodnission through that method... :(
-
Okay, whats your username on that server?
-
woodent
It gives me a directory with cgi stuff in it, but thats all (as of an hour ago)...
-
Where precisely did u upload your content to then?!
-
when i put the IP in the host name/address field in WS_FTP, it took my login, and password. That was all the information i was given, and it worked, so i assume it did stuff on its own, since when i check the ftp info, i can see the page there...
