Title: Dunbar Station BETA up for download

Beta being shes got a few bugs I've got to figure out.

Bugs are as follows:

Several parts appear to be "fly-thru" yet no faces appeared backwards,..all areas showed up with correct textures and such.

Sub-systems not showing up at all. None of the three appear fuctional, sensors, comm,shield gen 1 and 2 are all just not there in game.

Shields not working. Last minute idea was to add shielding as it's a major R & D station in the campaign but has not "on board" weaponry. If I can't get them working though this idea gets scrapped.

the fly-through thing is a common pb with big models... I heard somewhere that if the ship jumped in after the begining of the mission, the pb would not occur (never tried it). Of course, it would look to make a space station jump in... (maybe make it jump right at the the first second and disabling the jumpnode ani in fred would work?)

Shield Gens?

So this thing has no weapons, but it DOES have shields?

Being this station's concept is one of the main R & D research stations in the GVTA. Being as such it's far enough inside GTVA space to be concidered fairly safe, but shield generators were installed as an extra measure.
The reasoning behind a lack of weaponry on the station itself is that it was felt better to have station defenses away from the station itself, thus minimizing possible damage to the station and personal.

At any given time the station has a small fleet and over 100 AI turrets around it, just to be safe  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

This is a strict beta version, once I've got ALL the buigs worked out I'll complete a full tbl entry for it and re-upload it all for download.

Sushi, as far as I know I don't see where the engine would flip out, being sentry guns aren't even close to being a high-poly model.

Also keep in mind the concept of this model means it's not meant to be the center of any major battles. Mostly it's for background and storyline in my campaign  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)


Unidan, simply rename the pof file to match another in game and go for it  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Hehe...Once it's advanced a bit, I may make a mission where it IS the center of a battle. Just because flying isn't half as much fun as when you have something huge to buzz around.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Well if the "fly through" bug is actually size related I might have to downsize it some  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif)

Also getting the shields and Subs to work might take some doing.

With luck I'll have it ready next week.
