Hey guys, been a while. Was just going through some old old files on my computer, and came across this wav file. The first part is just a slew of sounds i ripped from FS2, and put them in an "audio scene" of the capella destruction. Then it transitions into a briefing from Heather Drake (the famous Peter Drake's wife) explaining the gist of what my campaign "The Perfect Storm" was all about. It was going to be an audio trailer.
I just thought I would share it with all of you, since it is one of the last remnants of a long-dead campaign... just for old times sake.
A couple of words of disclaimer. If i had the original files available, I would remake parts of this clip. The sound gets quite loud in some places, nearing distortion. I apologize for this. Secondly, originally, we had intended to cut the production at 2:05, so you'll notice that in some places after that, Heather gets a little drowned out by the unedited sound effects/music.
Anyways, enjoy it if you want, and if you don't, ignore it... :P

hey the beggining part sounds good, although perhaps shouldv'e bin made a bit longer or sumthin with more sounds, itd be cool then and sound like a real big battle :P it sounds good though, some of the briefing by the woman was slightly ocnfusing for me but im guessing the video part was meant to accompany it and show better?

Yes, I actually made this to give to my cutscene guy, so he would have an idea of what I had in mind for the trailer.

no, we never made it that far... he vanished on me, and I graduated HS and came to college, and the project was shut down. Now all thats left is files like this, and a folder of model files, images, and story write-ups... Some of it has been lost over time, but its fun to look back at what might have been...

Hmm... i'm a little confused. Why would terrans be in gamma draconis constructing a subspace portal, and how would they get there?

Ahahahah... ironic that you should ask that. That question was asked about 5 years ago, and discussed/explained at length... Again, this trailer was written when TPS was eagerly anticipated, and people knew a lot about it. That's why most of the basic explanations are not included, since they were already common knowledge.

It's really shame that TPS was never finished, it was one of those project that did interested me back then.

Yeah, it interested me too... just ran out of time... Remember how over the top we were with the details? Lol... we had rendered images of the new guns (like the actual gun, not the energy beam) a model of the new ship propulsion units, stuff that you would never see in the game, but that was only for the website. We had every little detail covered... had i started it about 2 years before I did, we could have finished... but once I came to college, it was all over...
Oh well... glad to know people still remember it... :) I figured most of those old timers had long since gone...

Yeah, morris13 won the contest for the new hybrid NTSA ship... or wait, is that giving too much away? Guess it doesnt matter now... :P
