First off, I've been viewing this forum for some time now and have finally decided to start posting. While I may be a newb here, I'm not known as a newb elsewhere. I do the soupe du jour on planet descent, in addition to posting on 4 or 5 other forums. So don't worry about noobish behavior. :)
Second, I've downloaded the scp and it seems I can't access any more advanced weapons in the later levels. I'm stuck with rockeyes and tempests. This is...more than a little annoying.
Third, I'd like to thank Maeglamor for having a link below his avatar which reminded me to download firefox :)
Just thought I'd warn everyone that I'm posting now :devil:

Welcome to HLP. There are exits to the left and rear. Do not attempt to use them. Under your seat you will find empty beer cans, cookie crumbs, corpses of newbies, dog eared dungeon Porn mags left by Shrike... oh, and a Flamethrower. Unfortunately, we're out of napalm, so you'll have to bludgeon people to death with them.
In the event of serious conflict, there are plasma rifles in the forward locker, though these can only be opened by an Admin, [V], God, or Hyperintelligent shade of the colour Blue. If, for whatever reason, you find yourself crawling around in the ductwork, there's a better than average chance you'll encounter a Shivan. They're easy to spot with the five legs and all. If you're lucky, it's just Carl, who responds well to food rewards. If not, then at least you die quickly. Be aware that the entrance to the main control room is guarded by subspatial claymore mines.
Do not mention FS3. Karajorma's FAQ is your friend. The SCP team is über. Have a nice day.

Exits are to the rear and left, in case of emergency shotguns are located under the seats. Knife fights are strictly prohibited in favor of more interesting 35mm mortar duels and machete jello wrestling. Heavy weaponry, such as plasma rifles, are located in the weapons lockers, but these can only be unlocked by an admin or a Volitioner. The giant rats in the barracks are not for eating. If you happen to come across a Shivan in the air ducts, don't worry, it's probably just Carl. Toss him your lunch (or your lunch money) and he'll go away. If he doesn't... pray. That will be all, we hope you will enjoy your stay.
EDIT: Oh yes, and in the event of a Steak flood, you may be used as a flotation device.

Thanks for the information. Just out curiosity, was there an incident of someone abusing avatar priveliges, or is it just to distinguish modders from mere mortals?
Even if there were a steak flood, unless you're on top of it while it cascades down, there's no way to float on it.
I don't float all that well anyways.

Corsair's welcome message was superior, due to being far closer to the "classic" welcome message with the whole shotgun thing, but the Steak flood thing is bizarre.

Hehe. Ok just so everyone knows, I am in no way related to anyone here. I know nobody.

way back when I first decided to play online, I needed a quick name. Nothing permanent. Just something that didn't sound stupid. I had just read the book "fire ice" and decided since it was a new release, some other people might have read it and would think that a bad name. So I went with ice fire. After about a day, a good friend of mine caught me online and noticed my name. (note, this is his opinion, not intended to insult anyone here) He said the name sounded bad and suggested liquid fire. I played with that, got noticed by a few people and made some friends. After that, I had to stick with it because EVERYONE on the web who knows me knows me as liquid fire.
The funny thing is, I am in no way a pyromaniac, as everyone immediately assumes. I just play one on the internet.
Another interesting note...I have now seen three people with the name "ice fire." I guess it wasn't such a bad name after all...
