The product of the last 4 hours of hard work.
My eyes hurt!
..and that´s perhaps why i think it looks good. Maybe tomorrow when my eyes recover, i´ll see diferent...

Btw, the center piece is a rotating object. It uh...err... ..rotates.
PS: this is the seventh time i´ve tried to post this single phrase. Goddam lagg!!!
-
can't see almoast anything picture is too dark:rolleyes:
-
Looks good ST. What is this for? TVWP or something else?
-
Looks great!
-
Looks like a "classic" terran design, with no vasudan influence. Plus it gives an impression of being quite big.
-
Polycount?
And is that grainy grey look a texture or just jpeg compression artifacts?
-
looks b5ish
but i like it :D
-
-
Damn, man. That is some high quality **** right there
-
Yep agreed, it looks like a Bab5 ship.
-
very nice:yes:
-
I like it....i like it a lot.
And the B5 look probably comes mainly from the 6 solar panel thingies which look similar to the ones on B5 and the jumpgates.
-
actually it's really very good
-
Agh! TVWP! TVWP!!
;)
-
Wow, this model is very impressive.
-
i like that alot

I think it looks B5 like because of the big rotating bit, like on the Excalibur. That's hoiw they make their gravity innit?
-
Looks like a cool Medical ship to me.
-
I hate you, Swamp Thing. If I could get something looking a fraction as good as that after 4 hours... :sigh:
Great model, though - one of the best you've done
-
That's a really impressive model, good work (but I have to admit too, it looks b5ish, because of the fins on the side, but that's not necessarly a bad thing ;) )
-
I didn't think the Excalibur had the rotating bit? It was part of the Minbari 'Rangers' fleets? I seem to recall that part of the deal between Earth and Minbar was an exchange of Gravity tech?
Anyway, very nice model! Needs work on the textures and needs glowmaps, but the model rocks ;)
-
Yeah. It's the Omega-class destroyers and a few other ships that have rotating sections. Crews of earlier ships (such as the Hyperion-class cruisers and Nova dreadnoughts) have to get by without artificial gravity, unless they're refit after the exchange of technologies (and they might be, I don't know).

Oooooo, look at all those nice reviews!! Maybe my eyes weren´t deceiving me after all!
Actually, i thought the model looks Nexus like, maybe because i´ve been cracking my skull playing that game, latelly. Just on a side note, Nexus enfuriates me, it´s one of the most frustrating games i´ve played!
Anyway...
@Flipside
Needs work on the textures and needs glowmaps, but the model rocks
Of course it needs texture work, the model isn´t even textured yet! :p
@Starman01
Those aren´t fins, they are solar panels.
@Goober
I´m surprised people like it. I didn´t think people would, wich is why i didn´t even post it in the TVWP internal... I´ll work on it some more and then post it over there.

Reminded me of the Rodger Young from Starship Troopers a bit, but excellent model regardless of universe!
-
in a word: niiiiiiiiiiice
-
not bad asside from the "oh oh, look at me, look at me, I'm a science ship becase I have solar pannels like the faustas" solar pannels.

No, it´s more a kind of "oh oh, look at me, i´m a science ship because i have no gunz, and my modeller decided i wasn´t getting any" type of thing.
:p
EDIT:
****e, i almost forgot!! Here´s the latest update.

(Assuming that the above ship is intended for the FreeSpace 2 universe and is used within GTVA space...)
Hah, yeah, nothing makes a science ship a science ship better than a total lack of any defensive turrets. We need more ships with no guns on them because well, the GTVA isn't ALWAYS fighting. There also have to be safe havens where no battles are fought, no wars, where commerce is strong and nobody needs guns, just a few hired mercs for basic protection if necessary, and nothing more.
I mean COME ON, do you really think the GTVA would give CIVVIES access to even a Subach HL-7? Their recruits arent even TOLD about the Subach until they pass basic training. You're told about the Subach in the first mission of the game as if you've never heard of the weapon before in your life and are told you are "authorized" to use it. That implies that anyone NOT with the GTVA using Subachs are NOT authorized to use them and are breaking the law if they are found to be using them.
And in the safest systems of the GTVA, where no pirates lurk and danger is minimal, you still need science ships to monitor weather on planets, observe distant stars, monitor anomalies and scan for subspace instabilities and that kind of thing. You aren't going to waste money on a military-grade Faustus (as weak as it is) for inner-system patrol in the safest of areas when war isn't happening and everyone is happy.
The ship in this thread fits that bill perfectly as a commercial/civilian grade science vessel for peaceful operations within GTVA controlled space. I just can't see it with any turrets on it --- it would destroy the beauty of it.
Excellent, excellent work.

That is, what they call, a beautiful ship
