These are the results of the latest Project Census:

Projects that didn't reply:

Projects declared as dead by leaders:
# Attempted Suicides
# Devil and the Deep Blue

Projects in progress:
# 158th Banshee Squadron
# Apocalypse Project
# Babylon Project
# Blackwater Operations
# Ferrium Project
# Freespace Upgrade Project
# Inferno
# Machina Terra
# MindGames
# Star Wars Conversion
# Scroll of Atankharzim
# Source Code Project
# Terran-Vasudan War Project

# Fred Zone

# Freespace Universal Reference Project
# Casualties Of War
# Hard Light Array
# Lightning Marshal
# Neo-Terra Victorious
# Stealth's FS2 Site
# Technological Superiority

Projects which didn't reply will have their time extended until friday to send a status report through Private Messages to any administrator, projects that fail to do so will be backed up then removed from the website and forums. Projects listed as dead will be backed up and removed. Projects listed as in progress or finished will be kept online (note that projects listed as finished may still be active, they just have final content that has been released or is the basis for work on active projects).

If you have any questions, feel free to post them here. Remember, send the reports through PMs.

Styxx, I stuck this so that it'll be more easily visible. ://Kal

Actually, I'm sure on the Grognards thread suggesting this, GW said he was still working.

IIRC.

One quick question. Are you removing Lightning Marshal? Cause they've actually got content worth keeping.

It's like an elderly, blind/deaf dog. Can't bear to loose 'im but it'd be cruel to force 'im to carry on.

I don't know if it's worth mentioning, but you just made me very angry over internet. Nothing against you, but those godless ****ers that keep their beloved pets in the world of pain.

I am pissed off. Sorry.

Has anyone in the MP community tried contacting Lonestar or Cetanu? Fredzone has some pretty damn useful content on it too. I'd hate to see anything happen to it all.

Should it be considered finished?

I think Fredzone is partly superceded by the campaigns forum, isn't it?

The forum link on HLP itself is broken actually. I was refering to the site itself. Loads of useful info there. Jump in distances for capships,  How to make vasudan voices in goldwave etc. and Cetanu's Advanced FRED guides should be read by anyone who plans to use FRED in any serious way.

They can be transferred to the Wiki.  Same with FSURP.

re NTV: It's "finished" in the sense that people aren't doing any more work on it; but it won't be deleted because 1) they released a demo, and 2) the campaign will be finished by FRED Academy.

Well, I suppose that we can keep FRED Zone as finished if you guys think it has some really useful content...

Why should we put the FRED zone's content into the Wiki? The FZ website is better than the Wiki's and 9 out of 10 people would rather see the older but better web-design. If you ask me, I do not really bother where the FRED Zone will go, if it goes somewhere, but its content must be kept anyway!

Because it's easier & more logical to encapsulate all FS2 information in a single source than spread out across a myriad of places.

It is more logical, indeed, but some people would rather see the nicer FRED Zone web-design than the Wiki's.

Well, tough.  Wikis what we got, and Wiki's what we use

:p :)

Actually, in all seriousness the Wiki is a wee bit fugly, but that's not really the point of it, is it?  It's suppossed to be a collaborative information source rather than a pretty webpage; as long as it has working hyperlinks and visible text it's doing all it needs to.

That's the same what I told while we were discussing what would become of the Wiki. I kept saying the data you can find there is more important than the design. My theory was refused then and now you say it does not have to be a nice one.

I'll give my opinion about wiki.. It is downright ugly (no offence) but it's very good source for info (although there's alot of question marks there). :)

so are yall trashing the dead projects or what?
Title: Hosted Project Census Results
Post by: Styxx on January 18, 2005, 07:48:29 am
Yes, we are. But we'll be keeping FRED Zone as finished, at least until (or if, that is) everything in it is moved to the Wiki.

Updated the list based on finished and released content. Only five projects will be deleted now.

We got a reply stating LM as dead, but since it had lots of released content, the site and HLP2.0 entry were kept, but the forums were removed. We have everything backed up, though, so if something is needed it can be restored.

****. I missed this thread and the census completely. I thought that thread in the Grognards forum was the thing for determining whether a site was still active, so I had posted there and considered it done. Is it too late to get GTD Wolf back?
