And I've been listening to Kenny G's duet album. Any thoughts?
-
Not a clue. :)
Only jazz stuff I've really listened to is by a guitarist called Bill Frisell. Bloody good stuff though. And there's always Miles Davis I suppose. My parents like his stuff, though I've never listened to it...

Cool, vyper. I'm really into jazz... play alto sax with a group in school... trying to really pick it up but I can't learn my music theory so well. :sigh:
-
You're talking to a man who spent high school playing keyboards but refusing to learn theory. And thus never actually getting any recognition so... er.... I think just destroyed my own point. :nervous:
Seriously, stick at it. :)

Well, Kenny G falls under the massive umbrella of soft jazz or modern jazz. I can't say it's really my style, but if you're interested in a few classic names: Miles Davis is excellent, as is John Coltrane and of course Duke Ellington. If you're feeling really adventurous I can't say enough good things about Charles Mingus.

Psss. Back at the warpstorm days/baord, i said I liked jazz. I got nothing but being flamed for it.
It's either you guys are lying to him, hate me, or I got into the jazz trend too soon. :blah:

Kenny G isn't generally liked by most people I know, especially those who like Jazz. Which I find kind of odd. Personally, I think he's a weirdo, but some of his songs aren't bad.
