So here I am, head full of all kinds of crazy ideas waiting to be put down. So far, I got Sibelius for notation and Soundforge for all the technical jiggle but I'm not quite sure which composing program to use. There's just so many of them. And besides that, some of them are called trackers, some sequencers, some samplers and god knows what else I will find if I keep this up.
Care to enlighten anyone, and perhaps recommend something? :)

I've just started messing about with Acid (no, not that :p). Seems to be pretty good. I suppose a MIDI prog and a keyboard would be useful for making your own samples and stuff. I dunno. There's someone here who does a fair bit of that kinda thing, I think it's Flipside, but I'm not sure (it might be Karajorma. I always get him and Flip mixed up for some reason... :nervous: )

It's flipside. I have absolutely no musical talent. My one attempt to use Fruity Loops ended in dismal failure :)

Have you looked at Cakewalk (http://cakewalk.com/) yet?

Theres some program called "Anvil Studio", which I'm fooling around a bit with; dunno how it compares to the other proggys, tho.
