I´ve started texturing the science ship i posted earlier, but now i need an opinion from the people.
Wich of these 2 texture themes look the best? Note the back is still completelly untextured, as is several parts a midship and front. But from what is done, wich of these looks the better?

:blah:

first one, with those white ligths look more civil to me.
-
1st, but I think you need a bit of colour variety in either case (I'm guessing you've not finished the rotating section colour scheme, etc?).
-
First one. The Faustus got some red lighting IIRC, so you might want to consider adding it here and there.
-
First one...the second looks a little borg with the green lights ^_^
-
1st one, but the second is cool looking too.
-
second one looks sinister, so save it for a reskin for when your going against some evile supertechy faction.
on both of them the hull plateing seems could be made more defined
-
second one looks better imho but look also more military. I'd use the first one with the wings of the second.
But brighter shots would help in giving an opinion
-
After hard thinking.. Definitely the first one! The lights are much better.
-
First one.
-
First.
-
1. Standard GTVA Version
2. Über SOC Version
-
1st

First for the rotating section, 2nd for the rest. And put some glows on the Solar panels ;)
-
Ok, i´ve used features from both schemes. I´m still looking for a real solar panel texture for the panels, but the rest is pretty much done, with the exception of the engines.
How does this look?
Oh, i also gonna need a name for it, but i can´t think of anything... Any ideas? The winner gets to name this little beauty!
:p

As for a name, how about the GTSc Odyssey class?
-
Well, the figur of "Faustus" in "Dr Faustus" was basically I severely flawed scientist, who gave his soul to Lucifer ;7 in exchange for power and wisdom.
Sticking to that scheme, does anybody know some other examples in literature?
-
Frankenstein and Moreau spring to mind.
-
GTSc Frankenstein. Weird. GTSc Jekyll, anyone? ;)
Edit : did I mention that the latest version looks plain great?
-
change the red to blue or the blue to red, all three primary colors don't look good together
-
GTSc Galileo
-
Hmm, what about GTSc Daedalus? Fits that "tragic scientist" scheme, again. Though I'm not sure if that name's been used.
-
Those solar panels are gonna look sooo sweet with env-mapping.
-
GTSc Heisenberg
-
Daedalus has been used

Though I wouldn't consider that a hindrance.
Heisenberg is a good one, too.

GTSc Curie

GTSc Planck, GTSc Rutherford, GTSc Szilard
