Finally an all new campaign has been released by The Babylon Project. Unfortunately this initial release does not yet have voice acting included. We have also released a minor, although recommended update to the Base.

Post Raider Wars bug reports here. (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,29623.0.html)
Base 3.1 fixes:
- Most effects animations are now in DDS-format.
- Added five missing generic intelanimations.(Tech Data > Technical Database > Intelligence)
- Updated some glow-/shinemaps.
- Added high-colour jpg textures for CR Primus and Secundus.
- Fixed EA Aurora Starfury thrusterglow position.
- Fixed Raider Battlewagon bug in turret(s).
- Updated League base model.
- Added "Unknownship" model to prevent a crash when a mission designer uses unknown ship briefing icon.
- Fixed missing afterburner on EA Valkyrie.
- Several tweaks to missile weapons.
Base 3.1 known bugs:
- CR Primus is missing two engineglows.
- EA Skylark has two engine subsystems, should be one.
- EA Midwinter is missing a fighterbay.
-
EDIT : Found the file. Trying it out.
-
Wow, quickest patch evah. At least from my point of view.
-
The patch will increase your performance.
But why was my missileHit ANI replaced? It looks so good with for beams. :hopping:
Well, I might have something better soon anyway. ;7
-
I guess Shadows & Vorlons will be in 3.2 eh?
-
Well i cannot seem to get the base 3.1 updated. It keeps saying corrupted file. I downloaded it 3 times from differnt locations. When I uncheck Registry it will work but the the whole game won't work then. I will decline the base 3.1 patch. Radier wars seems to work without it.

The effects are still the same as in 3.0, except shockwave01.

Be more specific, WHEN it says that?

Its says exactly
Error Decompressing Data! Corrupted Installer?
It actually asks a question .
-
Ah, then your download is corrupted. Re-download it.

I doubt there's anything wrong with the installer, I'm currently downloading the 3.0 to my workmachine to test patching here.
I suspect PSI-KILLER's problem lies somewhere in his system, for some reason the installer cannot extract files properly.
-
Downloaded both installers, worked like a charm.
Just make sure you have enough free space where you temp folder is located. If the patching fails, play it safe and move your temp folder where you have at least 1400 MB free space. (Both the old and new core files are 500-600 MB.)
For moving your temp folder, you can find instructions here:

Asome update good job u have the tks of a b5 fan who really appreciated the massive power and beuty of EA ships . Asome keep it up.

I tried evrything to instal 3.1. I changed the varaibles to the root directory and still no help. I was able to install 3.0 right fom my desktop and all other missions also with no problems. I have 24GB free on my root drive. I shut off all virus scanners for 3.1 but still refuses to patch. Do I have to be on a fat32?
-
Works fine for me with NTFS and "only" 7GB of hard drive space, so I doubt that's the problem.
-
Hmm, creating a multiplayer game doesn't work for me at all. It crashes when I press "Accept" in the create game window. Is this a known problem?
Anyways, how's the next patch coming along? :p

No idea. FS2 multiplayer isn't exactly popular. Whatever multiplayer bugs there might be (not counting missions itself) are in the executable. So those who play multiplayer should give a heads up in the SCP forum.
As for next patch... There's nothing in the base that needs to be fixed pronto. At the moment I am unsure of how we should deal with bugs caused by fs2_open because if we use daily CVS builds, there's even bigger change that something is broken, and it's more difficult for SCP staff to give support when "it's just a CVS build".
Most HLP'ers can deal with CVS builds pretty well but we need to take non-HLP'ers into the picture too.

Okay. How about ship models? Who's making them anyway? Those already in looks great!
-
New content will be released when there's enough to release. No point in releasing an update when a single model with textures has been updated or added.
-
i dont like the new effects in 3.1 the smoke looks gay and the explosions are horrible is there a way i can fix it
-
By giving the developers constructive feedback and telling how you would like it to be, instead of just saying it's "gay", for starters.
-
sorry iam wondering if its possible ever to have damage effects like in the show where parts of ships can be destroyed
-
Likely an issue with video card or video card drivers. Give your system specs.
-
well i have win xp radeon 7500 but no the 3.0 works perfectly fine and if you can answer the second question too
-
Update your video card drivers to the latest ones. Uninstall old old ones first though. For this you can use AT Cat uninstaller.
http://www2.ati.com/drivers/cat-uninstaller.exe
And you can already blow parts of ships off. It's just not used to great lenghts in most models. One of the models where this is used is GOD.

I finally got a chance to test out 3.1 today, and had a few issues. First of all, the Raider Battlewagon causes a CTD whenever its selected from the techroom. This leads me to believe that something you've done to the model in 3.1 has destabalized it somehow. I haven't completed RW yet, so I don't know if it will make an appearance in that campaign, but since this is during 2258, I don't think the design existed yet. Can anyone else confirm this?
2ndly, this may be a problem with my machine. I tend to get alot of static associated with sounds and voice files, both in-game and in the interface. Its no where near as annoying as the BUZZ issue I've been experiencing under FS2, but it starts to slow things down. Please note, I'm using Coolmon's 01/17 build.
While I'm posting, I would be remiss if I didn't congradulate the TBP team. I completed the EMW demo, and what a piece of work that is. The voice files accompanying it combined with the awsome resolution of those planets actually gave me an immersive feeling a few times. I'm currently on M2 of RW, and boy am I finding this difficult. I hope to have further time to work on this tomorrow afternoon.
Later!
