Looks like you guys are churning out new features faster than ever. :)  There's been about 5 new builds in the Recent Builds forum since I last visited a few days ago, Lightspeed is still releasing new textures/maps, the VP files have been updated at least once recently...I'm at a loss as to which things to download. :p Congrats on all of the hard work...this is truly the best community-based project I've seen anywhere. :D

You know, I was prepared to see something idiotic when i clicked this link.

Thank you, it's nice to see something nice, especially unexpected.

i agree Mongoose.  although i am not part of the SCP, i remember a thread a few years ago, before release 1 from the SCP came out, where people were talking about what features they wanted added.  Some were detracting and still hoping for FS3.  I said way back then the things that these guys are going to be doing would be our own FS3.  I asked when the last time was that a developer asked the players what features they would like to see, then did everything possible to DO it.  The SCP kicks ass, they have done everything that we have asked (within reason), and have gone beyond that into the realm of some unreasonable requests.

I have always believed that what they were creating was in fact a successor to FS2.  Proof of this is in the launcher and fred alone, if we could label an engine FS3, this would be it.

Well done SCP guys, you have made things possible that weren't possible when i first came here.

Totally agreed, mongoose. Certainly an exciting time to be around - and people think FS is dead. ;)

I have to admit... I never dreamed this much would have been achieved when the code was first released.

I'm hoping that one day we'll get a community effort and be able to release a (freeware) game using the SCP engine; completely skip over any legal issues with FS2 and HOTU, whilst drawing in new people to the community.

I mean something original.  i.e. ideas that I'd want to work on myself (I'm not a fan of working from TV series or whatnot).

I did indeed.  I've not got round to playing it yet, albeit (work & stuff).

Anyways, I'm not saying what your doing is bad or owt - it's **** hot work, and you're right to be proud of it.  But from a personal/creative aspect, I just prefer to be free to work with my own ideas.
