Title: Team Speak and fs2 open
Post by: Trekker on January 18, 2005, 02:29:19 am
When playing a mission in fs2_O i was chating to a few of my clan mates over team speak, i noticed they voie was seroucily distoreded.  TO givce u and idea of what it sounded like if anyone of you watch andromeda and managed to see the episode when they go into the roo of al ages and end up where the abysis lives, when they first enter they have trouble with time and they speaking goes funny until trance get them to understand the phycis of that "universe" they are in.  Anywya that what it sounded like.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Almost certainly badnwith or machine related.

Nothing to my knowledge would cause that conflict.

You here mangled voicess when the server you are connecting to is overloaded, or your own bandwidth is being exceeded, of you own machine (RAM and Processor) are not up to the task of running everything at the same time.

I might try the teamspeak support forlks for some specific areas to investigate.

though i run halo and icq and team sopeak at the same time often with no probs on the same server, supose it could have been a glitch but will pop over to TS and see what they say

FS2's netcode has barely been touched since the SCP was started. The system right now is to send an update of all object positions every 0.x seconds, I think. ICQ takes up virtually no bandwidth at all, usually, and Halo could easily have more advanced netcode. Especially since it's dealing with less objects, on average.

Edit: Make sure you're using the lowest object update setting possible in the FS2 options screen, too.
