Title: JFK and the grassy knoll
Post by: Corsair on January 19, 2005, 07:54:39 am
Just wondering....who do you think killed him? What really did happen that day in Dealey Plaza?

Personally, I refuse to accept that Oswald was a lone assassin. I suppose it's possible that he killed Kennedy, but by himself? No... evidence seems to say that it would've been pretty damn hard for him to do it by himself.

I've read bits of the Warren Report and it looks like such a coverup to me. So many things were either never investigated or were overlooked in the investigation or just seem plain spooky to me. For starters: Jack Ruby claims that he was just an enraged patriot who let his emotions get out of hand when he killed Oswald but the fact is that Ruby had turned up at the police station four separate times after Kennedy was shot, hoping to get a glimpse of Oswald. He even posed as a reporter to get into the Oswald press conference! Sounds an awful lot like Ruby was stalking Oswald to me.

Will we ever really know? I doubt it. Some things just make very little sense though. Oh, and don't take anything you see in the Oliver Stone movie JFK as fact, because there's so much fiction in there...from what I've read, Jim Garrison was a freakin' nut.

I think people find it easier to come up with a conspiracy than accept that a lone individual with a gun could kill the most powerful man in the world.

Because the former is less scary.

Honestly I always thought that it was the Mafia.  The Kennedy Family it is said has had some dealings with the Mafia in the past.  I think they were trying to teach them a lesson to show that it doesn't matter how powerful you think you are.  The Mafia can get you.  I drive by the place at least twice a week.  The shots could have easily have come from that hill however, I don't see how anyone could have gotten away on the other side very easily.  It is all open on the other side and covered in train tracks.  I think Oswald shot him, but Ruby shot him because they couldn't trust Oswald to keep quiet.

Explain to me why JFK isn't an option on that poll? Or will I have to hit you with a large stick?

JFK killed himself?

I'm torn about the Mafia. There are lots of old records of conversations between mob bosses showing that they would have liked to have taken Kennedy out, but do you think they really would have? I mean, they know that if they're discovered, the entire government is going to come crashing down on their organization in no time at all. The mafia dons want to make money... they don't want to risk something like that. Do they?

On the other hand, the mafia connection makes sense. Rumor has it that Kennedy wanted to crack down on organized crime in his second term and was going to really make things tough for the dons. So maybe they did take him out and just managed to bribe the right people to keep everything quiet...

Yes, after being rescued by the Red Dwarf(Lister, Rimmer, The Cat, and Kryten) crew.  Which screwed up the timeline.  Royally.  They then went forward to a time where Kennedy had been sentenced to death, took him back in time to the Grassy Knoll where he shot himself several times with an semi-automatic rifle.
