Hey! On the raider fighters it always says they are a relic of the now defunk belt alliance. What was the belt alliance to begin with does any one know ? :confused:

The Belt Alliance was a loose alliance between governments of different colonies, it's purpose to stop pirates (before "Raiders"), they created the Zephyr design but it fell into hands of the pirates it was designed to be used against.

I'm not sure if Belt Alliance existed before or at the same time as Earth Alliance. Apparently if EA did exist, then it was taking it's first steps, otherwise there would not have been need to form this so called Belt Alliance.

Zephyr is definitely an inferior design even compared to Aurora MK1, so it must have happened before the Dilgar War.

Why?
The military has far more resources and access to the absolute latest technological researches.
And the Zephyr is designed to work in Atmosphere too, which reduces it's effectivness in space.

This is pure speculation, but maybe the belt alliance came into existance directly after the Eartch Minbari War, when the fleet was reduced to a few ships and couldn't protect every colony.
