This is a basic retexture I did on the Xanthus model which is still a work in progress.
It is based off of textures on the Colossus and Hatshepsut with minor pattern and texture changes.
These textures will be tweaked further when the final version is done.
There are still some bugs on the model, namely the second nameplate.

There is a VBB thread by Warlock, the ship's creator, on it's armaments.
I've tweaked the textures further, though they appear at a distance the same as these shots, the detail level is through the roof upclose. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
Also, I've based some of the smaller textures such as the fighterbay and the interior of the bay off of some base textures Dark did for me a while back that haven't been used yet.
I've tweaked those quite a bit to give a feel that is somewhere between the GTD Hades and the Earth ships in Blackwater Ops.

Well these images were before I tweaked the textures (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif) Also the version I currently have sent to Warlock is "unoptimized," I'm waiting for the final tweaks on the model before wanting to finalize the textures for some real renders. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
When that time comes, then I'll do up some high-res style shots.

I only used the mainhull object set from the polaris design. Had to rip ALOT of the subobjects out in order to make her even close to FS2 useable and still run a polyreduction on it (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
Funny,..at first I had nice 844 poly model...but it had >20 verts per poly and Cob2fs2 does NOT like that lol

The Xanthus' texture files are at: http://www.adamantpacified.org/files/xan_newtext.zip ("http://www.adamantpacified.org/files/xan_newtext.zip")
There is a .gif image included which is what I intend to use for the final texture, however the model needs further tweaking as I keep on mentioning.
More tiling of textures, less stretching, and the nameplate's being fixed.
Convert the .gif into a .pcx and play with the texture sizes until all over the hull are crisp, even, detailed versions of that texture.
At that point, send the new model to me, and I can tweak them further.

Ok I finally got time to check out the newer ones,...looking MUCH better (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
The only thing i'd see that I'd change would be the all black areas oer the center and the side extensions I'd add light effects to them.
Oh and the disignation is GTCr,...not GTCa (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
As far the Model's tweaks,..I'm putting the multipart turrets on hold for right now,..the one nameplate flaw is a quick fix,..I slipped and painted the entire poly on the plate instead of just the faces where the name should appear.
Has for the other part you were mentioning,..I'm assuming you meant the area with the same basic texture of them just needing a higher tile setting?

Ok we've got the rotational turrets on. All I need to do now is make a few adjustments to the axis of the two rotating missile turrets, re-work the two main beam cannon's firing object heigharcy, then we should be golden (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
I've removed a few of the non-rotating turrets and added four gatling cannons, two rotational missile turrets guarding the hangerbay, and a pair of dual beam cannons, one topside one bottom side.
Oh and Ace...those textures look ALOT better in game, all the green is gone (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

There is still a lot of work on the model.
You'll be seeing two versions, one for the coming Twilight sequel, and another for Warlock's projects.
Currently some resizing work is needed, some textures still have problems, and the turrets need some reworking for the version I require.
