Mel Brooks must be defeated before he is allowed to unleash any more of his monstrosities of mediocrity against this poor, defenseless world.

Woot!

Too bad John Candy isn't around to act in it though.

no, that's george lucas.

and you obviously don't have any sense of humor outside snuff films, either, it seems. :p

The humor of Mel Brooks's movies is forced, obvious, often corny, and consistently stupid. Spaceballs was the only one that even gave me an occasional chuckle, and that was only the first time I watched it.

Humor must be allowed to speak for itself. Mel Brooks couldn't leave his own jokes alone.

I preferred the earlier ones, such as Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein. The humour goes downhill from there...

the 'jokes' are so forced there funny, like when you see something so horable it's funny, like that suicide bomber car comercal, or "while you were busy castrating a priceless antique, I was systematicly feeding babies... to mutated puppies!!!"

That's why they're funny...

Mel Brooks movies aren't nearly that offensive. If they were, they would probably be funnier.

And it never looks to me like the forced aspect of the humor is intentional. It just looks like it's trying too hard.

That's down to the acting, not the writing, take, for example, how smoothly Rick Moranis carried off Dark Helmet, compared to some of the more 'pantomime' acting from other people in Spaceballs.

It could be good, but it probably won't admittedly ;)

hehehe Yep, or, in a more Mel Brooks voice..

'Da Soich for more Money'

It would only be good if Rick Moranis and the old crew are still interested, unless he intend to get an entirely new crew in and use that to take the piss out of George even more ;)

Possible Spaceballs sequel?

I'd just like to add my vote to the 'I do so hope not'. With the exception of the Leia hair/headphones gag, the film was rather poor.

What ever happen to those days of making bad sequels to good films?

It's changed to making bad remakes of good films, i think.

Oh, and apparently they're now remaking the Fly (again)

Spaceballs was my favorite of the Mel Brooks films I've seen, and it's my favorite comedy of all time.  Ford, the corniness of the jokes is what makes it so good. :p I hope this one lives up to the original. :)

Well, there was the original in the '60s(+1), there was the Goldblum one(+1), it's sequel(+1) and I think there was a 3rd sequel to it as well(+1)  So I count 4 total The Fly movies.

Actually there was the original with Vincent Price, its sequel. Then the one with Goldbloom and its sequel.

So then a total of four.

We can't loose!

If it's good, it'll rock.
If it sucks, it'll still be better than the new Star Wars films!

I sincerely hope it'll be better than "Dracula: Dead and Loving It"....
