Hey im new to fs2 and I was wondering if there was a mod that geve me an uber powerful anti-fighter beam for when i get pissed off =P

To answer your question, there are 2 answers. either go to Volition Watch Archives and download the "aurora weapons pack", or, activate cheat mode and select a beam cannon from there. however, i recommend you play the entire FS2 main campaign before you go into any modding.

Dustmuffins, I'm not wuite sure what anti-fighter beams would do for you, since they'd more than likely be used against you, but alot of mods are contained on the main age's Mods section.

Or, if you wish, TBL files are in essence a text file, and it's incredibly easy to tweak your beams to be however you want them to be.

SAy, there's one thing I have been meaning to ask.

I know fighters/bombers can have beam weapons placed on turrets, and that you can use FRED to trigger their fire with a key press.

But I was wondering - is there a way to have a beam weapons as a normal primary?

I bet you have tried cheats, changed the primary to beam weapon and it worked. So, I guess, there shouldn't be any problems?

Cheats? My phaser was based off the Sred as was my cap ship ones and the Getter Beam (for the robot/ Bfred) all player controlled as any other gun.  No fancy charge up times as not needed or contrary to source universe. But then again that's not Fs2 oriented, but it's not cheating , it's mod related...

I just meant that beam as primary weapon works with cheats, so it should work without them too :) I never tried to change pri wep to beam in tables..

Actually, I tried it a allready. I used the STiny from the SB Vindyachal and the game chrasches if I put it under player weapons....

The bahka is an excellent heavy assault fighter with a big loadout and great compatibilty. Its also an adequate bomber.
The Apollo meanwhile is a hunk of crap with an engine and some guns attached.

I think Grey Wolf made the prototype Apollo and the stealth one but I forgot the name of the mod (SHA, SAH, HAS?) It was a while ago but he had some nice stuff in there!
