how many times? Me, 10+.
[EDIT] Erg, i forgot to check "post a poll".
-
You never give up, don't you?:doubt:
-
Dunno. i go threough Fads. I'll play it non stop for about 2 weeks and then not touch it for 3/4 months. Same as all my other games.
-
6 times, after that I got an internet and found HLP :D (it took me a half of year to force myself to register to forum but now I think that I made a right choice :D )

Lost count....
-
About 20+ I really enjoyed the game. Same goes for FS1, played and completed that about 20+ the storyline is just so addictive it rates as one of the best stories in my games collection (With those of Starcraft and Star Wars X-Wing alliance)
-
Not too many, actually; probably 4 or 5.
-
FS1 - many times
FS2 - many times
Inferno - twice
And now i'm palying Derlict
:)
-
Once for each game. I usually tinker with mods but I'm working my way back through FS2_Open.
-
I've beaten FS1 3 times, since i don't play it much. (it's not MOD friendly, although I've worked my way around that).
-
Twice or thrice, I don't know exactly, or rather don't remember.
-
i kind of once did what Roanoke did. i played it for 6 months straight and didn't touch it for a year. i was playing XWA... beat that at least 6 times.
-
Once for both. I don't like to replay games.
-
:eek2:  then you're not a true gamer  :eek2: :headz: :snipe:
-
Play me in FS and I'll make you eat those words.
-
Both FS1 and FS2 once.
Plus almost all of those user made campaigns, once in general.
-
UT, you signed up for PXO?
-
PXO is down :p
And I'm signed up for FS2Dnet, but I haven't configured my game to work with it right yet.
-
D'OH! No wonder i can't find any games...
[EDIT] Where is FS2Dnet? I just did a search.

....dear....god.....
Cobra you must sit and stare at HLP for 5 hours straight to rack up those kind of numbers. Haven't you heard of IM or IRC?
How in the hell do you accumulate nearly 6000 posts in a little under 3 months? I've been here 2 year and have literally half his posts...Steak's been here since the begining and he doesn't have that many more...holy smokes at the spam...

http://www.google.com/search?&q=Fs2NetD
First few entries will give you something. The .cfg file is in mv_core and mv_zpack, so if you have either one of those you should be able to login to Fs2NetD. (You have to register on burbsworld first, though)

The admins messed with his postcount, Lib. It's not real. Calm down.

i dont know, about 4, fs1 about 3 times. i might play fs1 again under the freespace port, i tried to play fs2 under sfopen, i got to the vasudan exchange missions, then i lost my progress testing new builds. most games i beat em once and they get shelved (doom 3 for example). i rarely play a game more than once unless the game forks (as with tachyon) or just has multiple sides (starcraft, cfs2, cfs3). freespace is just the rare game that is just good and is worth playing multiple times.
-
I've played it start to finish only once. However when I did beat it, I didn't realize I did. I was playing with FSO and had no idea that the game ended, so I kept playing the last mission 5 times until I realized. "Hey, the game is over!"
And really, that's the only FS2 campaign I've ever beaten (aside from mine). I started a few fan-made campaigns but never finished them.
-
FS1: 80-90 (not mod friendly? :wtf: ?)
FS2: maybe 20...
-
38 times.
-
counted, did you?
-
Hippo: what I meant was you couldn't mod FS1 as well as FS2. so there :p
Nuke:
Axem: finish those campaigns before we go medieval.
-
I meant I started playing fan-made campaigns, but never finished any of them. DEM would almost count, except I never won the last mission... (yes I know the readme tells you how, but I gave up on it after finding it)
-
oh...
OK, where is burbsworld? geez, I can't find anythingon the web anymore. and don't ask me to HLP search, it shows only this thread.

:doubt:
If you look at the google link I provided, there are two Burbsworld results. They're right after the HLP ones. The URL is show below the text from each webpage.

I beat FS1 a few times, beat FS2 4 times, then I got tired of beating it. Until about a year and a half ago, Someone I know (Formerly known as (STW)Max_Sterling) told me to start fresh, set the difficulty to Very Hard, then delete the pilot if I fail a mission or die, and start all over again. For some reason, I still havent been able to beat it for a fifth time.
-
2 times, once on easy, once on hard
-
twice on insane :p
-
er, does the FS2Net work on vanilla fs2?
-
@Cobra
You need some special build by Kazan(?) to play vanilla FS2 in FS2Net..
And I've played FS2.. Uhm, 'bout 8 times.
-
FS2 about 10 or so times, replaying it again now. Only played FS1 twice, though. Never really felt moved to play it again after that.
-
It's not Kazan, it's someone else. Look for the 'old build' sticky in the SCP forum.
-
"Beaten FS2..." that's a tough one.
Once. After around two years actively on PXO.
I've lost much since then, and it would probably take at least a year to get back to that point where you have truly mastered the game, however. Even longer with the SCP, probably, as things just feel different (and look pretttyyyy).
-
more times than i remember. at least more than five.
-
FS1: Around 9-10 times
FS2: Maybe eight times
I play any other mods merely once.
-

Tom's build, sticky at the SCP forum:

-
sweet
-
FS1: (Port) 2-3 times
FS2: um.... Not once I think.... :( Something always comes up.
-
........... i beat FS2 when I had like 2 tons of homework (not really, exaggerating)
-
Maybe around 10 or 15 times for both FS and FS 2. I kinda like to play single missions more, over and over then go through the whole campaign and beat it. :)
-
Playing the main campaign =! beating FS2
-
Completing the main FS2 Campaign = beating FS2, to be more accurate
-
Hi there.. first post from a newbee..
Bought both games just before x-mas
Completed FS once - about a month ago.
Havn't completed FS2 yet - I keep getting blow up in the supernova :(
Links to a post explaining how to complete would be appreciated...

:welcome:
Getting blown up by the nova is completing it. There should be a cinematic after you die. You can also live if you get to the node and jump out, if you start heading there before the supernova starts, but personally I think the death ending is far better. Though it's worth getting the other one as well for the different speech.
-
Ahh... Well I kinda suspected it, though I'd like to try the other ending once.
Great game, but must admit I liked the ending of the great war better, I was not in doubt about having completed that one.
Thanks, now I can move on to the multiplayer missions ... :-D
-
You'll need FS2_Open if you want to play multiplayer as PXO is down. Check the SCP forum here on HLP and the SCP Website (http://scp.indiegames.us/content.php?content.2) for more details.

2 tons of homeworld is nothing compared to a baby boy. Or a Wife for that matter.

YES! I'm not the only one who says "homeworld" when I'm trying to say "homework"
...as for beating FS1/2
FS1: about...10 or or...I think
FS2: About 20
-
oops! :D
-
lol. ubermetroid's got homeworld on the brain.
-

Use a Perseus and stay close to the node.
-
If you are close to the node, it does not make much difference which fighter you are flying. I say take the craft you like the most(the faster the better) and after ten minutes, go for the node. Capella goes nova somewhere around the 11th or the 12th minute.
-
just keep following the convoys. it helps ;)
