Title: herc with no perc
Post by: EAD_Agamemnon on January 27, 2005, 01:37:02 am
I have  a problem. Its a backwards problem.
Playing with the ships.tbl files, upping ship speeds and all.  So far, the only that does not work right is the Herc II. I set the max speed to  75...I start the game and use a herc2 for the mission...I go to max speed, then divert all power to engines...
Note: With normal power settings, this ship will go the desired 75 but when I divert all power to engines, I actually SLOW DOWN to 65. What gives?

you have to set $Max Oclk Speed: it defines the maximum speed the ship can go when all power is diverted to the engines.

Somehow I thought that was it. Wanted to be sure.

Problem fixed. Fixed it for every vessel whose new top speed was above the overclock.

Be aware that upping the max speed messes with the AI.  Put it high enough, and the AI won't be able to steer properly.  Instead they'll crash into the capital ships they mean to fly around, and will never manage to face their target.
