Ok, I'm uploading the ezechiel to my brother's webspace. It will not stay there. So I'm asking for someone ( Bobboau maybe? ) to get it, fix what needs to be fixed ( glass cockpit maybe, etc ), add nav lights, etc etc, and then that someone ( HLP? ) uploads it somewhere where it will not be lost again. Once ( if ) this goes well, I plan on doing the same with a number of mods I've done and are presumably lost ( I assume nobody has gotten hold of the Brontes, for exemple, right? ).
Well, voila...
I'll post the link to the Zech when it's completly uploaded.

Lod1 should appear very close, I set it at 25, in fact:
$Detail distance: (0, 25, 50, 100)
Transition should still be ok, I remember spending some time on that, making sure it wasn't too noticeable while still being as close as possible. I've tried a mission with two dozens of them on my old rig ( an athlon 900 ) w/o any significative FPS drop.

Well, technically, it's an heavy fighter with enough AB to reach a target quickly. Otherwise, it's heavier than a perseus in all aspects.

I'm probably going to use a setting like (100, 200, 300, 400) for Starforce.They're powerful fighters (but not as overwhelmingly uber as they were in OTT), so they're not going to be everywhere. I'd hate to be leading the bomber squadron attacking a ship guarded by 24 Ezechiels...;7

Well, I'd recommand trying the lowest settings first, see if you're really not fine with them, coz there's really no point having the cockpit rendered that far away, for exemple.

I know that, but I want there to be a noticeable, dramatic difference between the standard and HTL models.

Perhaps a more descriptive thread title would help get attention. For example:
"Oy, Bob (or whoever). Fix my high poly Ezechial!"

Just pathing? I could probably do that. My big limitation right now is that I have no means of converting a model once I get it ready. I'll look in to it.

Actualy no, there's a couple annoying things that would require... well, some kind expertise, that I don't have: the insignias and crap make the ship see through. Annoying as hell.

Ah, that. Only shows up in OGL, so I didn't notice it off the bat. Unfortunately I can't fix that, as it requires a mesh edit and is not something I can do in PCS. If the scene file is still around, would it be possible to pull the two front plates out of the plates subobject and attach them to the hull as isolated polygons, and to make the insignias a specific subobject by themselves?

AAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Now I understand why I didn't notice it before. I was using D3D before, and switched to OGL only because specular didn't show in D3D on my videocard ( you know, the "too up-to-date" catalyst thing ).

Well, I've done what I can. The pof still doesn't have glowpoints (other than the two green spots underneath, I didn't see where any would be appropriate anyway and I don't have any glows worthy of the model) but I have calculated nebula trails. Here's a screen from OGL, to prove that the rendering order has been fixed up. The trails are there for me to test alignment and have since been tweaked a little bit.

Nico, you have a table entry in mind for this?
Oh, and if you've got any other mods with similar alpha transparency effects to that '01' or insignia, don't delete the scenes. There are a couple of conversion modifications that I had to make to the Ezechiel that took forever since I didn't have the original scene.

yeah, I have one, but people tend to never use the tbl I make when they use my ships, so there's no need posting it.
I usually just stress that the ezechiel is half way between the perseus and the erynies, basically, and heavier ( bit slower, less agile ) version of the perseus, but with very powerful AB, and thick hull and shields.
For glow points, well, guess small ones at the end of the two main wings and the two engine fins would be good, plus one under the nose maybe.
Anyway, thanks for your hard work, it's a pleasure to see that there's stll people willing to help here :)

Eh, I was going to let you set the manufacturer and description at least, seeing as it is your model. If you don't want to fill it in I'll probably give it a baseline description and everything so that it looks complete.

Ok, here's as close as I can get to a finished product. If anyone out there is good at shield ani's, please contact me and I'll send you a monochrome top-down render of the Ezechiel for you to make the interface out of.

Well, fun's almost over. Starting new semester today, so I'm off for... a week then it's winter holydays ( lol :D ) for a week, so I'll try to finish the moloch then. After that, second semester really starts, so I won't be around much anymore, again. Voila, cya :p
