reduce cost thats bull****. thats gonna force the companies to buy new computers and servers and develop new techniques, costing everybody more money, prematurely.
``Most industries in America have used information technology to make their businesses more cost effective, more efficient and more productive. And the truth of the matter is, health care hasn't,''
so why not let health care just take care of itself, like the rest of the industrys. If they see that they can actually save money by revamping their records system that should be their perogitive, not the government's.
President Bush has one of the worst domestic liberty records ever.

That's all very interesting, but who's the hot girl in that picture you posted in the other thread? (seriously, whenever I see your nick from now on, that's what I'll be wondering)

The problem with the Healthcare system, as I see it, is that the patient has been removed from the money aspect of his or her care by the overuse of Insurance for "everyday" medical treatment such as annual physicals and acne. Thus the average person suffers a disconnect of the actual cost of these treatments.
If the way insurance works were restructured so that the patient is directly responsible for the transfer of funds, prices would come down.

That's incredibly myopic. What happens when someone needs a heart or liver transplant? I don't think many people have instant access to $150,000.

You really are quite a cold hearted bastard at times Lib. You'd be essentially creating a system where only the wealthiest could afford proper medical care.
Oh wait....

As long as you will tie healthcare with money you'll keep getting (and deserve in some measure) a crappy system.
Before someone someone starts flaming i'll just remember everyone the US system is 34th inthe world just after Croatia, while the best ones have at least some degree of public management.

That's exactly what INSURANCE is for, emergency or other major situations, it IS NOT for paying for every little hang-nail and zit.
Most sheeple think that their kid's last physical cost $20.00 or what ever their co-pay is. If they knew and were responsible for the actual cost, which is closer to $200.00, the costs would come down because 1) most people wouldn't and couldn't pay it and 2)costs are high because Insurance companies and HMOs have DEEP POCKETS

The costs are that high because your medical professionals are well organised enough to force the prices up.
The same way the BMA stops the UK from having more doctors than they want by basically reigning supreme over our Universities.
