Good. Three things:
Firstly[/u]
Go find anything and everything that might be interested in buying Fattonys.com and list their contact info here.
I'ma hock the domain to raise the cash to get the cards printed and need a ****load of cash.
Watch. Watch as I bankrupt myself and am left with 499 packs of unsold HLP:CCG cards.
Secondly[/u]
I've upped the cards-per-box to 53 (assuming that many will fit - if not, I'll get some custom boxes and add another £1 onto the price) and the runs to 500 (Don't ask). Meaning [including postage and packing] the packs will be around £8.
WARNING: No Guarantees. Bad **** happens, price goes up. Good **** happens, price goes down. But as far as I'm concerned, £8 is a ****ing bargain. Feel free to argue about the price, and I'll make some 'quality cut-backs'.
Thirdly
Might help if you people start lying through your teeth about the cards at every outpost across the web - never mentioning where to get them till I've had them all printed and set up a site. And certainly never point anyone to HLP. There's too many instances of me making derogatory comments regarding potential non-HLP customers.
If you hype it enough, I might get some incidentals and be able to hock a few dozen packs to tards.
(See!)
-
Once again, whats the image-thingy policy. Drawings, photos, anything goes...?
Though to be honest, I can't see anyone outside of HLP really wanting to buy these, but you probably already knew that. I mean, would you want to buy the Planet Halflife Forums CCG (or whatever)?
though 8 pounds sounds reasonable (probably like $15 bucks Canadian, but oh well)
-
Preferably a photo, PS'd to your heart's content. But I suppose a high-quality drawing would do.
Nothing too tacky or stupid though.
And I intend to put any 'left-overs' on eBay with descriptions like "Super-Rare Cards: Only 500 sets ever made" and **** like that.
Who knows, maybe some people will even buy them for the quality of the game, as opposed to their novelty value.
-
Ebay is actually a good idea, as long as you don't specify that HLP is an internet forum and that what people are paying for is actually pictures of some people they've never even e-met.\
Though if some of the wealthier forumites buy a few packs each, as opposed to one, you might sell all of 'em. That, or get someone who works in the aquisitions department of some large company to order the rest, listed as...I dunno, pens or first-aid kits or something.
-
So-o-o-o... there's fifty-two, sorry fifty-three cards, and thousands of HLP members. who goes on?

It won't really matter.
I mean what difference does it make to the average Joe if someone is playing a MTG Princess Aramawhatever card or a HLP Razor Cockfest card?
I can just sell HLP as a fantasy realm of craziness.
And as I've said numerous times on IRC: Suckering eBay users is a piece of piss.

Way I figure it, I can gouge the **** outta the Admins the next time they run a board-wide competition and need some decent prizes.

The 30 cards of active members and 23 of me in various sexually suggestive poses.
And at the moment, there's only me because no ****er else will supply their picture and details for me to make cards from![/i]

have you actually asked anyone for their photos specifically for this project but? people can't very well post their photos if they don't know they're wanted.
-
I posted a whole thread about it (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,29991.0.html).
It was largely ignored.
****ers.
-
yeah well, i can't remember seeing, i don't think i was online yesterday. can't you get the admins to stickify it? i mean, some of us aren't on hlp 24/7, we miss things sometimes.
for the record, i'd buy a pack assuming steak bought one, cos then we could share the shipping costs.
-
I've posted a thing in the Request Thread about getting a forum for all this, but they're whores so they've thus-far ignored it.
-
how long since you posted it? have patience man, the powers that be probably haven't been around.
-
Oh, they've been around. They just never check the ****ing thread.
Not that it matters too much. It'll probably be a few weeks till I can hock the domain anyways.
-
lol.
Sure I'll pawn myself.
-
AHAHAHAHAAHA!
In answer to your query regarding B1 boxes and playing cards, we can fit 53 unlaminated cards (85mm x 55mm) into a B1 box.

Go to Fattonys.com and click on a bunch of links.
It'll help bring in a slow trickle of cash.
-
Everyone recommend the card sign-up thread as a news post. That should get some attention.
-
An0n, to quote you :
"I.....don't.....CARE!!!!!"
:p
-
Yeah, well, I.....err.....I'm sending you a pack with 51 cards in. Mwuahahahah. PHEAR the inability to play poker with them!
Anyway, if anyone does feel like clicking a load of **** on Fattonys.com to make me some more cash, use the little search thing at the side to search for 'loans' or 'casino' or something. Anything that sounds like it might pay E2 per click.
-
I clicked on everything in the middle section, denied all the cookies, and promptly closed the windows. That help? ;)
-
Somewhat.
It's up to E0.85.
