Title: zpack perseus
Post by: Nico on January 29, 2005, 10:30:10 am
the perseus in the zpack is screwy, the cockpit maps are misnamed, I've corrected it:

I've also moved the eye point so it fits well with the cockpit view:

keep it somewhere for the next time you update the vp.

Do the dials on the cockpit move or are they just a picture?
EDIT: Very nice.

Is there any particular reason the the picture of the HUD on the cockpit is reversed from the normal HUD?

No, they don't. I considered removing them, but it's not really annoying there, in fact, you could remove the target point altogether and use the mapped to aim :p

Taylor: nah, I noticed that too an hour or two ago, no reason, I just didn't pay attention :p

Very nice.. but is there any way to sharpen it up some? The HUD gauges I mean... they're kinda blurred.

Nico, can you try this with one of my recent builds and see if it works? I've been having trouble with your Perseus...although I guess it could be that the POF is corrupted (again), but I did download your new model.

Erm... please forgive my ignorance, but... since when cockpits were implemented into the mediaVps? Are they in the zpack only?

I've downloaded the relevant build (cockpit_test.zip) but I don't see any cockpit... surely I'm missing something here. "show ship" flag is not working on the launcher so, my guess is that this flag refers to Fred.

Do I have to edit a mission on Fred in order to have a cockpit view?

Thanx in advance

Coolmon: I will. Didn't do coz it worked well already with the previous pack. But unless the upload screwed up, the perseus is fine, it comes directly from my FS2 model folder :p

Atkara: they're modeled in certain ships, it's not a separate feature. there's a few ships that have cockpits, afaik.

also, you need to add "show ship" to the ship flags in the ships.tbl file.

I wish that some things could be set to not show up, like the cockpit HUD.

Where exactly in the ship.tbl ?
Here :
$Flags:                         ( "player_ship" "default_player_ship" "fighter")

Or adding a new variable into the ship spec ?

You need to use a build that supports it, too.

Which built can support it ?
I try with the 29012005 from Bob or you and the one from Phreak but don't work.
I try as well with the cockpit_test and nothing :(
