Well. I got ****ing raped. There's nothing like ten thousand Uruks to really **** your fortress up. I'm too frightened to try it again...

Nani?

Battle for Middle Earth I'm guessing..
-
Either that or a really odd live play role playing game :p

Buy archers like there is no tomorrow, upgrade with fire arrow, spread your defenses and heroes out, and place Legolas where the mines are more likely to go (the middle of the wall, near that puny river thingy).
Use your heroes' powers well and the walls will never be breached.
After I passed that mission I repeated it but I let them breach the wall, and retreated to the castle to see how it fared in terms of defenses... very nice indeed might I add. :p

i owned the orcs in helms deep on defence ... just take down the ladders and theyr proper ****ed :)
-
The only helms deep I know is the Starcraft multiplayer maps made called that. . .
I've not played them, though.
-
SM would've pwned the Uruks though. I watched that and I'm like "Dude, a couple of assault 'copters(apache's preferably and that battle would've been done in 5 mins."

I don't think Tolkein had apaches in mind when he wrote the trilogy........

Well I've been wandering around the last week or so shouting "ROHIRIIIIIIM!" at the top of my voice. So yes, it's pretty ****ing awesome. Cavalry charges just don't get boring :D

In all fairness, dg goes around shouting "ROHIRIMMMMM" anyway, so its not really a very strong endorsement of the game.
I've been meaning to talk to you about that man. People keep staring, and frankly I'm embarassed.

I haven't played the game yet, but I've watched my brother play. He got absolutely overwhelmed at Helm's Deep, and it turned out exactly like the book/movie. He had to withdraw his heroes/few remaining troops to the innermost keep, and the reinforcements showed up just in time. Very cool to watch. :D In contrast, the Pelennor was a bit of a disappointment; he was able to completely repel the attacks. Would have been much cooler if the Mordor forces had breached the city. As it was, the gate fell only after he had moved his armies out onto the battlefield. Picture this: a lone troll and a few orcs walk through the gate, into a completely deserted city, and look around, completely confused. :p

I played the game for a while, didn't like it much. In big battles I came to appreciate the pause feature found in many games today when you can assign commands and such to units.

So the big question. How does it compare to Rome : Total War! :)
Worth getting or should I just wait for the LotR mod :)
-
Rome: Total War is a shame compared to MTW...
Modders are starting to hate it, the battles looks silly and you're forced to do far too much micromanagement...
Medieval: Total War is superion on almost all gameplay aspects (non graphics wise of course) except mercenary and skirmisher management...
-
The battles look silly? How? :wtf:
-
They seems taken from some anime cartoon than anything else...
I know that talking about "realism on games" is a moot point but MTW feels at least more plausible...
