I used to own fs2, but now can't find it to save my life, I think it was lost in a move...anyway, I tried d/ling the HotU version, but it didn't like my proxy and banned me :( so I'm a bit screwed unless one of you guys could help me out, and give it to me through MIRC or any other method.
Thanks,
Snarf

There is a bitTorrent for FS2 available on the babylon projects tracker. Game Warden used to have the files but they're down for the moment.
-
Hey, it's working! Going about 9-10 kbps
Thanks a million...now i just need to convince everyone to seed it :)
Do you know if that is the hotu version or the full ver, and will i be needing all of the extra files?
-
The bit torrent should be the full version AFAIK. The HotU version was about 200MB in size. FS2 would be 3x700MB at a rough guess.
-
that's about right ... the torrent i'm getting is about 1.83 gigs
is the 1.2 patch required to install OSP 3.6.5?
-
If you mean FS2_Open 3.6.5 then yes you should patch first.
-
crud, the torrent stopped at 13% -- are there any other ways to get fs2?
-
It will restart if you give it time. I doubt all the seeders have suddenly gone offline.
-
There's just one seeder at this time; me.
FS2 iso-images, manual and the patch is available in the tracker. The patch is in it's own torrent. ('cause I forgot to add it with the first torrent...)
-
Ah. I thought this was connected to the BitTorrent that MatthewPapa had going over on Game Warden :)
-
fury, turn up your upload ^_^
oh, and what do i need to use the ISOs?
-
MatthewPapa was hosting the ISOs on his webspace, not BitTorrent.

Only 11 Hours to go! arrg! Mr. Fury...please oh please crank that puppy up ^_^
-
He had the ISOs hosted but also ran a BitTorrent.
-
There's little point to to keep this torrent running if people just leave once they have gotten it.
-
Well, I just finished the dl and now I can start seeding. It's not much, but I try to keep it on as much as I can.
-
There's now a newer torrent running. The ISO-images are now standard ISO-images and not CDROM-XA which for example made it difficult to mount under linux. The download size is also smaller because WinRAR can compress standard ISOs better, and the ISOs themselves are also smaller.
-
The FreeSpace 2 torrent is close to being deleted from tbp-bt.com. There simply are not enough seeders to keep it.
-
ill seed it once I get it. but if its going to take 2+ gigs of space I wont be able to keep it longer than a month before my brother realizes one of his games suddenly disappeared and one of mine suddenly filled that place.
-
It's only 1,53 GB.
