Is there a way I can make snapshots from an AVI file or any Media files? I tried both DivX player and Media Player, with the old-style PRINT SCREEN then Copy/Paste, but it did not work.
Any help appreciated.

Meh....
Virtual Dub is the one way to go.
Reasons? It doen't render to an overlay frame, which can't be grabbed by hitting the print screen.

Someone once taught me a good trick for if you don't have any of those players around.
Open a movie using a movie viewer. Then using a second viewer open the movie you want to snapshot of. Since the first player is using the overlay you can quite happily take snapshots of what the second player is showing :D
Since most of us have a second movie player tucked away somewhere it's quite useful for when you can't download something that can take snapshots :D
