Title: No to sound lazy - (about campaigns and mods)
Post by: radaga on January 31, 2005, 06:54:31 am
Hey guys.

Not to sound lazy, but what is truly recomendable for downloading, concerning campaigns and total conversions for OFS2? I have babylon 5, but there is one thing I quite didnt liked about it in the first place: lack of shields.

Also your shoots being small "balls" like wing commmander... I like "lasers" :P but thats me being picky.

anyway, what you veterans recommend me to start with, once I get done the vanilla game 4 times over?

Thanks for your support.

My two campaigns can be found in my signature.
You have got SHIELDS there.

Damn. My FTP server is down. I will notify you as soon as it works.

Being an honest minded person I direct you to try Blaise's campaigns first :D

Homesick > all. :D

And you should download Rebels and Renegades (p1mpage) when it comes out. ;)

Please Don't turn this thread into a Blaise Russel-deitying one! He is no special, he only has nothing better to do than LINGERING in front of FRED!

Proof?

Anyway, I have got 2 RELEASED campaigns and you have got ONE that is in progress. I even helped you in that and gave advice. Furthermore, I am an active FREDer for MindGames and for the Star Wars Conversion, I even made at least seven missions. So, if you find me lazy, only look at yourself and your campaign.

Because when mature discussion fails, you hit them with a ruler.

See those little avatars on Blaise? He FREDs (I do believe) for Inferno and TVWP, and he's been able to release both Homesick and STL, both of which are excellent campaigns with depth and well-thought-out storyline behind them.

You, on the other hand, decide to flame those who have more significant accomplishments than yourself.

And you wonder why no one treats you with any kind of respect?  Believe me, it's not a language barrier :doubt:

It really didn't matter who that was to, the second post you made in this thread was inappropriate.  Instead of "you may also try my campaigns" which would be perfectly acceptable, you instead go straight off to attack someone else for no apparent reason other than that his campaigns are better than yours.

Oh, at UT, eh? Apparently, somebody hasn't been doing his reading (http://dynamic6.gamespy.com/~freespace/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29942) then.

HLP members aren't necessarily judged in how many campaigns they've released or how many projects they work on. We have other contributions than FRED, you know.

This is laughable... you know that this is not true.

No apparent reason? He stated I did not contribute to projects. That was not true, I showed proof about that.

I also had a piece of writing.. an FS1 novel, which was unfinished because I had better things to do than writing something that nonody will read.

No, TopAce, it is absolutely true.  It's all about attitude, and since yours stinks 99.9% of the time, well, you get what you get.  Maybe your lack of tact is something that gets lost in translation, but no one else from a non-english-speaking country tends to have any problem picking that up pretty quickly.

Really? You're assuming that just because it's FS1 that nobody will read it? Missing a little spot, aren't we? (http://www.fanfiction.net)

I think UT was right...

Really?
Holy Imperial Gloriano
FreeTerran
Trashman

Do they sound familiar? What's the common in them? They wanted to leave HLP not once because of the attacks they received.

That's not the part of the FS community. Some mention that FS is not well-known. Who else should I write to if not to the people who know what I am talking about?

Proof that 99% of my posts are offensive. If let's say I have 5328 posts now, it means that 5274 of my posts should be offensive. List all those posts and start calculating in per cent.

heh, relax, and thanx for the welcomes.

I am a PHPBB forum admin myself, and I am used to flame threads.

No use sending the link for you, because it is in portuguese (brazilian here).

By the way, for you ALL, thanks for the advice on the campaigns, thans TOPACE for being the first, and offering your missions (still waiting that zipped mission file on email ;) ), thanks Blaise, for directing me to the mission pages. (with no small feat of not mentioning your own campaign - modesty is so rare this days)

and the others, un-named, also thank you, for letting me see oppinions and therefore judge better.

Now relax, have a nice cup of brazilian coffee and stop scaring the new guy here :P

That ZIP file you mention is too large for me to send it via E-mail. I had better wait until my FTP at Game-warden gets operational again.

Heh, here is the solution. I might as well attach it.

[EDIT]Oh, where is the attachment? What happened to this feature? Is it dangerous to post something that big? It takes up 12 Megs, I suppose that is too much.

By the way, just got 50 (!) invites. if someone wants a GMAIL now it is the time to ask. (by Private Message, please, lets not flood the forum)
