New forceware 71.80 drivers seem to fix AA bugs with FS2_Open, like the text bugs and the bugs when selecting things and in breifings, it was a little, easily overlooked bug, but its gone now
FS2 looks so good at 8xS AA, now if only those non-standard resolutions worked better
-
Gonna try the driver!
Just curious. What card do you have?
Um.. Was is released yet? Where can I download it?
-
6800GT

I've been working on the nonstandard resolutions, as I play in 1280x1024 and it really pisses me off when something is misaligned or in the wrong spot. I've been playing Derelict, and got into the habit of attempting to fix one bug every time it crashed.
I made changes to the debriefing window, the message display, the lockon indicator position, and the support ship text. Most are untested, I made a whole flurry of changes just after the last mission I played.
Moral of the story: If you want a coder to fix something, buy them a better computer. :p
I'm not sure how well they'll work in 1280x960, tho.

Holy **** 71.8? I'm well behind here.
-
Where can we find the latest driver you mentioned Turambar as I can only find v66.93 on both the US and UK nvidia sites. Is it one of the beta drivers?
-
I'd check www.guru3d.com, they usually have the betas and pre-releases first.
-
looks like its time to upgrade my drivers yet again.
-
Be warned; The 71.80 drivers are actually quadro drivers. They work well with the Geforce lineup, but they may not necessarily work with your card. On top of that, the card is almost always active, and the idle temperatures will show for it.
Oh, and no, the AA bug has not been fixed. EDIT: Not fixed, but different.
-
crap :P
-
dude, quit scaring ppl off, they work just fine, they also fix the black screen thing in Battle for Middle Earth and no more pee pee water in HL2
-
I wouldn't say that: HL2 just died on me.
-
Meh, maybe not.

I use these drivers for my GF and it runs quite smooth

These are modified Nvidia and ATI drivers...haven't had any problems with the Nvidia ones so far.
