Title: Remember Inq.'s game company?
Post by: vyper on February 01, 2005, 09:12:19 pm
Well I've finally been playing Lore (and making an ass of myself by forgetting he pimped the game here for quite a while) and I really think it could suit the sheer dangerous minded indivduals we have here at HLP.

If nothing else, call in an airstrike for ****s n' giggles. :D

I played Lore before. It's good, but I dont have the time to play it anymore, especially since I got allegance as another free alternative :p

I´ve been trying to get Allegiance for ages, seems they stop making it only a few months after release, so there are very few copies around. Allegiance was the frontrunner of Starlancer, and later on Freelancer. Looks very good, even if it is a *cough*hack spit* Microsoft game...

I enjoyed playing DH-L, but, as with most multiplayer games, I get utterly pwned by people half my age, with better reflexes and eyesight.

I guess that's why, as you get older, you get into less 'frantic' paced games. :)

Not being picky, but theres a slight typo in the first para. The old 'The' = 'he' one ;)

Other than that, cool! It's been ages since I tried TT gaming though, back in the days of Warhammer skirmish ;)

I wanted to try Lore, but I can't really afford to spend money on games anymore.
I guess that's why I still [pretend to] play FS2 :p

Cool.

I mean to ask, actually, what sort of server setup / load do you have for  managing/running it?  (I'm working on ..er... I can't say what I'm working on because I signed an NDA.  but it's applicable).

The...um.... inter-client processing (for lack of a better term).

I.e. all the  calculations going via servers between clients/peers, especially with regards to calculating, fetching & storing persistant state.

It's probably not important quite yet, though.  I might not stay at this company that long.....

Well, $20 will get me an almost full tank, which will last me for ~220 miles.

And... err.. I don't think Roanoke is an American.

Well, err... We do have an oil tycoon in office. :p

And anyway, it may be close to a full tank, but my car seems to highly pressurize the gas, and run on the vapors. :p It's a small tank. ~14 Gallons.

Sorry... my bad. Point is they'd never pay anywhere near that price.

Edit: Raa, engine size? I'm a 1.6 and that's fairly big for insurance puposes.

Yeah but you probably get as many miles to the gallon for the same amount of money.

That still means running the car is cheaper overall!
