Post by: Omniscaper on February 02, 2005, 04:50:58 pm
Mesh/Textures - Don Woligroski (A.K.A. - Cleeve) of //www.staryards.com
Design - Chris Reyes

What do you folks think of this. Is this worth my effort to seek permisions to port her over?

Well, it's not a frying pan, so yeah, go for it :D
Anyway, what are you talking about? You've already ported it over :p

I'm no fan of the double deflector dish, but it looks ok.

Maybe it only has one deflector dish, and they use the other one for generating mass polaron graviton waviton pulse burst laser beams?

Looks very good. Only this blue part looks out of place.

hmm. Looks like the prometheus. I'm not fan of the double deflector either, if the ship doesn't separate. besides, the big dish is too large for the design, I think :P

Don't even think about getting me started on THAT aspect of Trek.....

Yeah, that was my first thought...:nervous:

Or maybe the fan who designed it thought it would look "cool" :)

burning out a deflectod dish in the void of space would really suck, so i guess it would be cool to have a backup. the deflector is as important to warp drive as the m/ara

The idea of a secondary deflector dish is not bad. The Intrepid Class has something similar, quite different of the secondary deflector array the Galaxy Class has

Considering the number of times they use the deflector dish as something *other* than a deflector dish, having another should probably be standard issue. :p

Almost seems a cross between a Sovereign and an Intrepid.

infact the deflector is such a multipurpose device that im suprised there arent two of them on all trek ships. its probibly the most power consuming system on the ship aside from the warp drive. aside from pushing away space dust it also houses most of the ships active and passive long range sensors. theyve also tried to use it as a weapon on more than one occasion. my guess would be this ship has a second warp drive for the primary hull (enterprise d saucer could only handel  the equivelant of warp 1, and thats by over powering its impulse engines to hell). im not about to freak out because of another deflector.

Yuck!

What ever happened to the roundness and smoothness of Federation ships?

It's better than most star trek ship designs, but I still don't like it...

The "saucer" (for lack of a better word)/front section is too small, disproportionate to the rest of the ship if it's supposed to look Trek. Needs to be a 'lil bigger.

definitely one of the better fan designs out there.

at least this one doesn't look like it was made by a special effects guy with a buck full of spare bits left over from previous shows.
:p

Eh, not really.  It looks like someone pasted the saucer from the Prometheus onto the nacelles from the Sovereign.

And I agree, the saucer is too small.  And the triple-decker secondary hull just looks weird.

So I wouldn't place it on my list of favorite ships.  That said, the model itself is very well put together, and it would probably look really cool in FS2.

hey, at least it doesn't have nacelles growing out of engineering like warts on an arse :p

Pssst....He's refering to the Galaxy-X (the three nacelle version)

Btw, I likes it! It's got a militaristic look to it...like it's ment to kick ass.

*shrugs*

That's just me though...

You know my opinion - bring it in as cannon fodder for any future campaigns anyone makes.

I quite like it, though I think the version on F2S has a better colour scheme (red glows where here are blue ones blue ones where here are red ones).
However this one seems to have higher details/resolution.

Btw. does anyone know who made that (the version on F2S, I mean)?
Title: YES

Actuallly I already got permission from the Original creator a few months ago... I even got the original model (from fs2sector) It was designed and modeled by the great ATOLM AZAZEL(one of the Bridge Commander elites).

I got Cobra turreting it now but there are... Problems... Anyway that REWORK by clieve is exactly what we need so if you get his ok for that model we are good to go.

Note we are NOT , absolutely NOT allowed to use the USS Scorpion (for FS2, in a mod). Raven Night has stated it very clearly to me in a PM Inquiry so please don;t bother him if you get around to seeing that beautiful and interesting design.

I did not know that fan designs were included inthe FS2Sector DL's but once I nosed around the BC forums I found out fairly quickly and sought out some of their permissions, it was the right thing to do. (makes a note about duplication of effort)

Um maybe I shoul dhave left mroe spaces between paragraphs? No, we HAVE full permission from ATOLM for HIS Soulwolf...

I was throwing out there that BTW if you get around to noticing teh USS Scorpion (a fan design also) which was made specifically for SFC3, and BC, adn BC2 ONLY that I asked Raven Night also about that one and he said no. Last thing I want is to have a bunch of us over there buggign teh same modlers over and over l)  So basicly if any other fan designs catch your eye at the BC site make sure it is NOT associated with Raven's project. Ulesss another has made it and saya yes they also are off limits (He PAYS their modlers it seems for the "product") That terminology confuses me as to if BC2 is just a Mod or will be a retail item?
