Title: Best of the best of the bestest
Post by: Spartan Zero on February 04, 2005, 04:31:25 am
I'll be doing my gallant best to do my own footwork on this, but I was curious if you guys would care to lend me your opinion on what the best of the best is when it comes to FS2 campaigns/mods (not counting SCP or other nifty-but-otherwise non-story/gameplay type stuff)....

What is #1?

Derelict, Homesick, Aeos Affair. Also check out Inferno (though I'm not a huge fan) - it's got some great effects in it :)

I'd say Homesick is a good one. You can also check out the link in my sig for some campaigns to try. :)

Sync, by Ransom Arceihn. Very good storyline and overall a very good and creepy campaign.

Sync looks like to be a good one. I have not yet beaten it, but it is far the best campaign I have yet played.

Welcome to HLP!

Exits are to your right and left, and flamethrowers are under your seat. Be careful, though, as they are sometimes filled with water. If this is the case, try to club someone with the non-working shotguns in the weapon closet. Also, be careful while wandering the ventilation shafts. If you see a large, six-legged creature that looks really pissed, give him your lunch and he'll hopefully go away. In the event of an emergency, you can and will be used as a flotation device.  The Plasma rifles in the forward locker are released only under authorization of an Admin, [V] God, and/or hyperintelligent shade of the color blue. Oh, and whatever you do, don't hit on Tiara, no matter how good of an idea it might seem.

I liked Derelict. Inferno was good, as was Casualties of War.

No post for you! :D

I just finished replaying Homesick, and I've just recently fallen in love again with Aeos.

Last I checked, Sync was retail, possibly. Then again, I'm not too sure.

Also, Sync is a technical term for when time (specifically online games) is jumbled around. Hence the plot ;)

I would say Homesick is the best one I've played.

And Sync is for FS Open, uses some of the new sexps. 'Sync' is short for 'synchronise', which basically means to happen at the same time.

So we sticky one or something. :p

Shrouding the Light is another pretty good one, especially if you liked FS1 (and fish-heads...err, Vasudans).

Sync doesn't use the Raynor. The only mod in it occurs far later. That station is just a normal Arcadia from retail, not sure what could be the problem.

Well if Sync doesn't use mods then the error probably lies with High Max's install. Obviously he's got a table somewhere that removes the Arcadia.

I myself thought Derelict and Inferno were very fun when i played them like a year or two ago....Now i just sit here, watching the mods build up but unable to play since someone refused to obey the law of puting my FS2 Disk 2 away and scratched the thing so i cant reinstall it....And i was waiting for Machina Terra to come out too :(
