Can I convert the graphics in the SCP over to ST Armada ?
-
The... graphics? :wtf:
-
 The pictures contained in the VP files which are used for effects such as weapons fire, explosions and backgrounds. The ships texture maps are being done by the moddellers afaik so I don't need to worry about them.
The effects that are used in the SCP are way better than the ones in the stock version of Armada, When we finally get some ships in game I would like to see a battle looking like FS instead of ST.

Well, there is no one who 'owns' SCP.
So you'll have to ask the creators of the graphics (FireCrack, Lightspeed, Turambar, me and some other guys.)
Btw I don't think you have to ask, but you should.

Well, the original high-res maps are already a modifaction of :V: work, so there isn't a true legal reason for the authors to start screaming about copyright. But it would be prudent to ask the creators of all the material, unless you're sure it's a :V: original (it can be found in FS retail), in which case you're left with possible issues with :V: or Interplay over the copyright.

AFAIK, the effects are all done from the scratch.
At least the ones I made.
-
If that's the case, anyone who uses them for another mod should be concerned about copyright issues with the authors, officially at least.
And as a matter of manners, yeah, ask before you use.
