this is me being random, mainly because i now know the secret of the img tags (omg, i am _such_ an _idiot_) and because i want to see whether deviantart actually allows me to do this.

and also because i quite liked this picture so i thought i'd share it with you guys.

DA doesn't allow hotlinking. Upload it somewhere else because we can't see the image.

looks exactly the same only bigger.

Drawing work is very good, but I don't understand why I'm forced to look at his crotch.
I'm really trying to look at the leg, but it's just not working.
-
I like  One critique - the line of the shoulder and neck is.... off. It's an almost straight line at the moment - is should be more of a curve. Aad perhaps do some more shading to the rest of the body - as BD seems to have noticed, most of the detail is in one place as-is. Perhaps some more creases in the tunic around the shoulders and arms, and on the bent leg? Very good, though

I like it a lot. I wish I could draw.
It's odd that you two can see it and I can't. DA is just funny that way I guess. It only works sometimes, apparently.

okay, how's this?

i think originally i'd done the picture, picked up a 7B, shaded the most obvious place, got bored and went to find something to eat and then forgot about the whole thing. is this any better?
i need to get criticised more, i see my own stuff too much and i'm starting to lose exactly what needs improving, techniques-wise.
-
Yeah, that's looking better. That shoulder is the only thing that sticks out as not quite right now - apart from that it's excellent :)

His face looks wrong to me...it seems malproportioned or something. If I focus on it I can't see anything definitely wrong, but when I look at the whole, it doesn't seem right.
-
hmm. well, i'm not about to change anything to do with the lines, cos that would involve a lot of rubbing out which would basically wreck the whole thing. that's the thing about hand-drawing, sometimes i wish there was a tool where you could just erase stuff without smudging the rest of the picture.
but thanks guys.
