We've got Ben Bowder, Louis Gosset Jr., Beau Bridges and Mitch Pileggi in various stargate series next summer. They must really be gettng a budget increase, if they can afford that many stars.
Looks like Season 9 will shape up to be something really cool after all, even without RDA.

On a side note, I rather like the results of the daily poll.

I do not approve of this loss of RDA.
-
indeed.
Though looking how he is phoning in his parts these past few episodes (parts which are no longer exceptionally well written, mind ya), who knows, this may be for the better
-
Rick is the executive prodoucer for SG1 :p so i figure he will be a special guest star on other eps :)

Big movie stars in series = turning it into a pop-cult series
----
"You refer to the prophecy of The One, who will bring balance to the Force. You believe it's this boy?" - Windu
"Permission to beat the living crap out of this guy.... Sir?" - O'Neill
----
:p
-
Hmm, where is hammond going, if O'neil is taking his place.
-
Well the episode that was on last week had one of the folks from "Whose's Line is it Anyway?" (US version) as the first prime of some snake head who got nailed by a time-traveling puddlejumper :p
-
You mean the reckoning?
I thought he was killed by tylc?
-
Isaac Hayes aka Shaft was in the Reckoning, incidentally.
-
Wayne Brady was in "It's good to be King"
I actually expected him to use one of his lines in that one episode of the Chappelle Show.
"Is Wayne Brady going to have to choke a b!tch?"
-
Hmm, I've never heard of the guy they got to replace O'Neill. He doesn't look very Generalish either, but then, Don Davis is a VERY hard act to beat. Maybe he'll surprise us.
Lou Gossett Jr (Copy-paste, I can't spell that yet ;) ) I've not heard of either. But he did voices for Captain Planet and Half-Life 2, so I'm looking forward to seeing him on the show. :D
Mitch Pileggi seems like he'll fit in the most. Ironic, since it sounds like that'll be the last thing he'll be doing. ;) He also reminds me of one of the writers for Stargate...

Anyone see Citizen Joe. I thought that entire, episode was hilarious. "You're telling us for the past seven years you have seen images of a barber from indiana.
Yah didn't I tell you."

errr...those are not "stars". they are b-list at best.
-
They are "stars" because of the genres that we watch. But they aren't the big names....
Whats happening is this: Stargate has run for a very long time. Actors want to get on with their lives....so they should. And they start to step down.
RDA has a family now...he's said for the last few seasons that he'd like to spend more time with them. Thats how the cards are dealt.

Well, I for one just want to see Season 9 in Australia. ;)
