I've finished the geometry on the marine frigate I've been working on (GTMf Sparta) and I need some suggestions as to how to arm it. I would like to make specialized turrets for the various weapon classes, so be specific. The blue bits (dock points, radar dish, and part of the hanger) are in need of a custom map, so consider their space on the hull taken.

Nice. I can see some of your Vasudan sensabilities in the general shape but that's no problem (of course).
As for weapons, and at the danger of being un-specific, I would say medium pont defence weapons. No anti-cap beams. I figure a marine ship would be quite light and so not too keen to enter a direct confrontation with anything big.

:yes2: :)
That looks awesome, StrattComm!
Hm...I say give it three beam cannons (two slash and one regular) on the front, so it goes slash regular slash.

Point defenses is precisely what I had in mind. It takes no stretch of the imagination to see the similarities to the Argo that I've built in (the round blue things are dockpoints). This is not designed to be a frontline offensive warship, but rather a troop transport/command and control hub for planetary ops, so it needs no heavy offensive weaponry like anti-cap beams. I'm tempted to give it a few point AAAf turrets and a handful of blob shooters, and make those multiparts that you can see on what's already there shoot flak. But I'm not entirely sure where to go with placement.

Regardless, that's friggen awesome. Are you going to release it?

We'll see. It was inquired about already, but I was more interested in getting it converted than putting it in a mod. I'll have to see how that unfolds.
