This ship is definitely asking for it. There are no visible weapons on it.

well...the ship is 10.1 km long...so weapons are going to be pretty small in retrospect...
Also...most weapons system are defensive as this is not a warship so much...
though it does have two marine and 2 navy units on board, consisting of a large number of craft and offensive/defensive capabilities.

Mostly used for defense/patrol etc...since it is a deep space craft.

Sounds like a craft that I could turn into scrap without any support, given that the AI program is retarded and their are less turrets on that thing then an Aten class cruiser! But seriously, its a good looking ship, and it looks like it could do some serious damage if it were given some serious firepower in the way of capship grade weaponry!  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Hmm...just how large of weaponry were you thinking...

Lets say to be visible, the cannon would have to be at least 1/100th the length of the ship...that would be a cannon 100 meters long...and that is only 1/100th the length of the ship...to really stand out it would have to be closer to 1/15th or 1/10th the length of the ship, that would place it some in the range of 500m - 1 km in length...a km is a very large distance...

there are turrets but they mostly pop out defensive, as it has a fighter compliment of 120, and 80 bombers...

I think you would need support :P

For a vessel 10km long, I'd say about 100 high quality turrets should be enough armerment to convince me to bring some support...
Oh, and when you say "defensive" turrets, do you mean those pathetic pea shooters that are found on many warships, or are we talking beam, flak, and missle batteries?

a few more then a hundred...
and they are high quality, in the Wing COmmander Universe anyway...

They are not behemoths..and not meant for capship to capship battle, but they do have the range, and combined firepower to do it.

lots of the flak/missle turrets, as well as CIWS rapid fire laser turrets...

for combat though, this is not a warship, that is why she has the fighter/bomber/marine compliments...they do the dirty work...

Okay. I take back whatever defensive flaws I said earlier. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)

Excellent job; very high quality model. This could be useful for a lot of Spacebattles movies...  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

heh spacebattles movies eh?  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Strangely enough, this ship is new, and created for use with the Edge Of Chaos...
a text based RPG club I am a part of...

the last shot of the El up there is from a 20 minute movie I am making for the RPG...

if you would like to see more of it, there is a teaser trailer available at:
 http://wcrpg.com/tlcw/index.html ("http://wcrpg.com/tlcw/index.html")

There are not too many shots of the El in the teaser, but the next teaser, planned for release soon, will show much more of her... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

And BTW Thanks for all the comments  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
