Title: A Little Help

Mission right after the very last training in the very beginning of the game (After training mission 3) i hit the load screen for maybe a split second on any mode (meaning with anything turned on in the features tab) and it boots me right to the desktop and closes the game out.  Anyone else having a problem with this or know how to 'remedy' this situation?

Have you tried it a second time? The newest builds seem to have a little bug where they boot you to desktop every 2-3 missions.

This is the mv_music.vp bug rearing its head yet again. Taylor has released a build recently which may solve the problem. If it doesn't though try this.

 If you've got mv_music.vp simply rename this to mv_music.vpdiabled.
If you've got the zPack (which incorporates mv_music.vp) you will also get this crash and unlike those using mv_music they can't just simply remove the offending vp file.

The fix is relatively simple though. Download this file (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/karajorma/freespace/Downloads/musicTBL.rar), Unrar and install the resulting music.tbl file to Freespace2\data\tables\

When the next zPack is released you should remember to delete it though.
