Title: Stargate SG-1 episode "Threads"
Post by: Dark_4ce on February 09, 2005, 02:24:10 pm
Wow.... I thought Reckoning was good. But this just mounted it on! Alright, not all the glitz and special effects of Reckoning but plot wise it was perfect. In retrospect, if you add this episode with reckoning, you'd have one hell of a movie.

Ooh ooh. And the last two episodes will even have Ra reappear! :D I saw a clip with Teal'c putting on one of those Horus helmets and it did that same special effect as in the movies! Aaah... This show is too good.

You can see how Threads could have been the last-in-series (or even last ever), too.

Good episode, nice epic feel.

Yeah. I thought of that. If you think about it, they were originally going to end the series with season 8, so they pritty much tied up all the loose ends and wrapped everything up at the end. So I'm pritty sure Reckoning and threads would have been the last parts, but with season 9 on the way, they pushed them up and added a looser ending so they can tie in season 9. But alternatively, if season 9 sucks (which I doubt) you can happily stop at season 8, cause I can't personally see them topping the last three episodes I've seen.

I'm interested in seeing
Spoiler:
What happens that is bad enough to force them to go back in time in the 2-parter finale?  Because they wouldn't even touch the timeship when it looked as if the Replicators were going to destroy the galaxy........

I kind of think that by tying up these loose ends they can bring in the Asgaard and maybe the other old races a bit more for the (last?) next season.  It's good to have stories tied up regardless; too many tv shows drag them on and on and on until you don't care about it any more.

I think they're planning that for season two of Atlantis and season 9 of sg-1. They'll find the ZPM prolly at the end of season 2 when sg-1 finnishes off, so that Atlantis continues with some cameos of Sg-1 cast prolly.

I think there are already some cameo-appearances scheduled for atlantis.  Maybe they'll introduce a Wraith-Asgaard&Humanity war?

Spoiler:
Hell, it does end with Earth sending reinforcements to Atlantis, after all........

They go back in time looking for the ZPM so that they can use it to get back and forth to Atlantis.

But what was really fun in this episode were the opening credits.

Rouglhly 7 regular guest stars.

.........................................

SPECIAL GUEST STAR:
Isaac Hayes

...................................

WITH
Mel Harris

..................................

AND
George Dzundza

[edit]

and yes, it would have made a terrific series finale. If Mobius can improve on that, then Season 8 will have redeemed itself completely.
