Title: Some missiosns cause a crash to desk top.
Post by: Blink41990 on February 10, 2005, 03:18:09 pm
Certain missions in the game such as Terran gauntlet and The first campaign mission cause a crash to my desktop. Is there any way to fix this cuz I really wanna play the campaign over but can't. Thanks a lot for your help.

Okay. This bug is getting almost as annoying as the no warpout bug with 3.6 :D And as usual I'm the one left to clear it up most of the time

Here's your solution Blink :D

Thanks alot.

Also I saw in another recent thread you posted that your fix for getting the cutscenes back into the game was obsolete. Do you know where I can find a better fix to get them back into the game?

the executable karajorma had linked to in his FAQ was a bit obsolete.

just download these and put them in freespace2/data/movies

It wasn't the executable that was obsolete. The link I gave contained new versions of the cutscenes.tbl and the main campaign file which had been fixed to show the avis properly.

Taylor later made some changes that made both of those obsolete.

That said I'm not convinced that the version of MVE2AVI I have is the most recent one.

Now download the .avi files that were linked to you earlier in this thread and place them in your newly created folder.

It's basically as simple as DP says. If the avi's are present FS2_Open should find them and use them without any problem.
