Weird. I keep jumping over from dynamic4 to dynamic3. When I'm on dynamic4 I'm okay but when I get shoved onto 3, I get logged out. Anybody know what's going on?
-
It's the result of ourselves from the future trying to communicate with us. They're warning us that soon, everything is going to go horribly wrong. Freespace 3 has become the next in the line of 3000 AD games. HLP is battered and fighting a losing battle. There are not many of us left. They're trying to warn us!

If your question refers to our being split onto dynamic3-6, that's GameSpy's makeshift fix for the unreliability of the dynamic servers by running us off a cluster instead of a single box.
If it's about being logged out, the handling of cookies is probably fubared by the server changing, so each time you're shunted onto another server, your cookies have expired on that server - requiring you to login again.

is there a way that we can have one server do the time tracking thing?, or maybe read from a third party source?
-
There is probably a way, but given the server troubles that we're having to deal with right now, I can tell you that it's really not worth it. Certainly not in the long run.

Is it temporary? If not, you might be able to write some sort of function to grab the date/time from whoever's providing free clock service on the internet these days, global search and replace through the vBB code after it's tested, and toggle it on/off if the server's clock goes significantly out of whack.

Or you could just get everyone to do what I did. Bookmark the forum's main page on Dynamic4 and just jump straight to the forums every time :)

You still have the problem with musical servers then. :p
-
I still have problems with other people being on other servers. I'm always on D4 :D
-
I'm almost always on D4. Just yesterday it kept jumping to D3.

Never been pushed off d4, ever. Cluster style servers are perfectly fine at handling this sort of thing normally - it's typical GS BS. ;)
