Installing as we speak...
Ok people, spill it. Whats the best/most fun/easiest/etc race and class to play? :D
-
well, I'm getting it soon. Its on its way. But what I've read so far is that druids are quite cool, lets you change into all sorts of stuff. Rogue is pritty cool, dishes out alot of damage.
As for races, I'm going for Tauren. Big burly and wuvable. The other option would be Undead, they're cool and eat off corpses. I'm wondering how many of you guys are gonna play, cause I guess we could start a guild on a server if there's enough of us.
-
Dude, HLP guild! :D
Though Hunter class sounds cool though, taming a pet and levelling up. Each different pet with different abilities.
-
Paladins and Hunters are popular, they seem to be powerful and versatile classes. As for me, I'm a mage, and I can tell you that they are a definite minority.
-
You should ask PeachE and voodoo over at Warpstorm - they have loads of characters...
I'm not expecting a mac version just yet...:mad2:
-
Wow should be mac compliant dude!
And T, Yep. An HLP guild would rock!
-
It says 'PC MAC CD-Rom' on the cover so, yes. :p
-
Don't trust Tiara when she starts HLP groups. The group will grow and grow, and then she'll vanish, and her nation will cease to exist... err... *runs*
-
*smacks Raa across the head with her axe*
-
Ow...

it's hybrid. just go buy it, you mac person you.
-
I think I'm gonna give up and buy it anyway, never mind if I can play it only during weekends, I just want to.
And I'll be either an orc or a female human ( when you play a female character, everybody's nice to you, go wonder :doubt: ). Depends on how I can customize it.
-
Actually, I will give it a go to make some super hot night elf girl as a character. But I still think it'll feel somewhat strange. Can you have more than one character in a server?
-
Funny thing is that I decided to buy WoW yesterday morning... about four hours later it was in my hands and I didn't even more 10 meters from the spot during that time. :D
Playing as an undead mage. Never before I have bought a game that is A) MMORPG and B) montly fee.
-
Darkace: yeah, but they all have to be on the same side (Horde or Alliance) for obvious reasons. I don't know the exact limit per server, but its probably 8 or more I would reckon.
-
Ah ok. I like the Horde, so I'll stay on that side, but I'll give the alliance a go on another server.
-

Well smite me! :eek2:
Looks like I'll be shopping again soon! :D
-
I'm now a lvl8 Night Elf huntress. :D
i'm also going to make an Orcish Warrior. So i can axe people. :D
So, anyone up for a guild? Cuz that means we have to choose a server, alliance or Horde, etc.
-
Yeah, I hear the Night Elf is the hottest character. But I think the human female might have bigger boobs.
I spend way too much time around people who spend way too much time on WoW. :shaking:
-
You know me T. I'm in for the guild. Just gotta wait for the damn game to arrive thru the post. :(
-
Just made an Orcish warrior, got it up to lvl 4. but warriors are dull.
-

I would reconsider that if I were you...

Ok, just what in the hell is WoW?
-
World of Warcraft.
-
I now have 4 characters :p
Night Elf huntress (lvl 9)
Orc Warrior (lvl 4)
Undead Warlock (lvl 6)
Human Paladin (lvl 7)
So far, the Huntress and the paladin are the most fun IMHO. With the Undead Warlock coming in as a very close 3rd. The warrior is simply dull.
But i'm really enjoying the game. :D
-
You should have chosen a mage, I laught at those puny warlocks and how little damage they cause. :p
-

Summons + Warlocks own mages. Period. :p
-
Only if those summons protect warlocks when enemies get in melee range. Otherwise mage pwns.
-
Actually, the class that is the rarest of them all seems to be the Druid. I got a Tauren druid going, and they are fun. Their like a cross between a shaman, rouge, and a warrior. They got a wide variety of spells that do very respectable damage. And when they shapeshift into a bear they can tank like none other, and they have the potential to do massive damage. And when they shift into a cat, they get the attack power and speed of rogues. I also got an Orc hunter going, Hunters are alright, but I think their a bit bland. Yeah, they get pets but other than that they are almost exactly like a warrior except with added bonuses in ranged attacks.
And, man, do I hate pallies... Way too many people play them, and they are way too godamned powerful. The other day, a group of 16 Aliance decided to launch a raid. Well, they had a few Palidins, the highest was a lvl 45 and I saw him take down a lvl 58 warrior.....! A lvl 45 raped a lvl 58...... Yeah, I'd say the Palidins need to be nerfed a bit.
-
bah, I'm gonna buy it tomorrow, but I still don't know what race or class to pick up... For now it's a tie between human and orcs... As for class, no idea at all :doubt:
-
That zboard thing they're selling looks fun. Too bad its only a keyset for the main zboard. Costs too much. But still looks like fun.
-
It's useless. A complete and utter waste of money. Don't buy it. It might look nice, but it's simply useless.
In any case, I got my Huntress up to lvl 11 and flew over to the mainland :D Now I'm going to look for a nice and strong beast to tame and use as my pet. ;)
-
There are raptors right outside Menethil Harbour, a little to the North-East. Though I suspect they'll be too high level for you to tame. At your level, Westfall is the place to go, though good luck getting there on foot from Menethil. Without grypons, its a good 35-40 minute run to Ironforge if you're fast and can avoid the various beasties along the way, and from there you can take the Deeprun Tram (essentially, its a subway that link Ironforge and Storwind)
Actually, hang around Loch Modan, but stick to the West side of the lake, thats where the level 10 or so monsters are. On the other side, they're like 18+

I'm at Darkshore and i have no idea what you are talking about right now :p
Currently i'm stuck with a funky Owl... i'm planning to get rid of him soon after i get a new pet. :)
*curses stablemaster for making stables 5s*
I'm already hitting myself on the head for going onto an RP server and not a PvP server (which is more fun i think). And i really don't want to level a new Huntress up to lvl 10 to get the Taming ability... :(
-
Oh, see in my mind "the mainland" means Azeroth, while "not the mainland" mean the Night Elf territory. Poor Night Elves, all the way up there in the ass end of nowhere.

Actually, it's quite easy (as in fast) to get to the Human/Dwarven lands. :) It's just that i prefer not to get killed by lvl 20 beasts that prowl those paths yet. :p
I should really make a human huntress (they look better :p) on a PvP server anyway... Or a new Warlock... (I like pets and summons as you might have noticed :p)
-
That second strip reminds me that I should go and get the Biggoron sword in OoT. Stupid FedEx quests...
-
I've got a few characters. All the WS peeps hang out on Shattered Hand as the PvP server (alliance). Forgot the PvE server.
I've got a few chars going:
Medivh:
Muirlin, dwarven Hunter, lvl 13. Pet wolf named "George"
Anazeron, undead warlock, lvl 12. Ph34r the voidwalker
some name that starts with an E. night elf druid, lvl 6
Shattered Hand:
Amil, human palladin, lvl 8ish
-
Dude, I just got killed by 8 (!!) lvl 14 Morlocs... i just resurrected at that angel cuz those 8 critters were still sitting on my corpse :p The 25% durability loss is nothing :)
And I just got 2 GOLD from a guy who was handing them out :p That's a friggin' lot for a lvl 11 character.
-

Ah, those were the days........... I miss my N64.
-
2 gold should keep you well stocked for a while. At least until you discover the Auction House hehe.
-
Level 10 Human Priest for me. Quite fun, though I'm still not certain if I should really buy that. Using the guest account from a friend's collector's edition.
-
I have troubles getting to any auction house...tons of people hang out next to them and my conn dies...
-
Haha, that's funny (not for you though :p).
Try setting terrain/model detail and such lower. It helps quite a bit if you run into lag.
-
Been playing an Human Paladin on the US Burning Blade pvp server. Stop.
Been having fun as I haven't had in a loooong Time. Stop.
Made 15 levels in a single afternoon. Stop.
Blizzard did it again. Chapeau.
p.s.: Only one thing tough. The fact that with an EU copy you still can't, at this time, play on US servers and viceversa. That pissed me quite a bit... I barely slept the day before it came out in the shops, and made a one hour trip, just to get it from the importer directly. I was pretty hangry as were many many other people like me. But i was lucky to find someone willing to exchange my EU copy with an US one.
-
According to my Beta experience Paladin is a fun character to play with. Mages do helluwa amount of damage but need a Warrior or preferably a Paladin with them to act as a tank.
-
Have it. I'm now painfully waiting for that damn install to be done. Damn it's taking ages :doubt:
-
Good to see that I'm not the only one who's wondering about that installation. During the process, I started thinking either my DVD drive or hard disk were broken. ;)
-
Took about 10 minutes for me... and another 5 for the download and another 2-3 for the install of the update...
Not that bad.
-
It still hasn't arrived. I ran down my postman half naked in the snow when the post came and it didn't arrive. It was freezing, I was in my boxers and T and asked if he had a package for me and it just didn't fit in. He looked at me scared as if thinking "How dare you come out here and ask me about your mail!" And just mumbled something and went on his way. So hopefully it arrives tommorow.
*fingers crossed*
-
Suprised none of you mentioned rogues. I'd say that's the most popular class. If you use cosmos (www.cosmosui.org ), a User Interface Mod for WoW which allows you a lot more flexibility and more bars to put hotkeys on, it has a server census ability which tells you how many of what class are on the servers. Shamans are the highest on the server I play horde as, and rogues are the highest on the server I play Alliance as, with palladins close second.
I've got a bunch of mid-midhigh level chars:
Archimonde(which is the only server i play on anymore):
Zerathis-Level 43 Night Elf Hunter
Zerathuel-Level 23 Human Mage
Zerathan(just made 2 hours ago)-Level 8 Human Rogue
Shattered Hand(don't play on it anymore. Alliance outnumbered the Horde way too much)
Zerathis-Level 38 Tauren Warrior
Zerathuel-Level 35 Undead Priest
Zerathan-Level 24 Troll Rogue
Keep in mind, I've been playing since release... so...heh. If only I stuck with one character...
Here's a video of what Rogues can do to people:
http://www.wowreview.com.nyud.net:8090/Subtlety.avi
-
Have a bit of a thing for Zs, DragonClaw?
-
He's ripping off StarCrafft. :p
Zeratul. :p
-
If I get a job and make some money and get a new computer I will get this... :)
I'd probably go a Paladin, or a Mage... maybe a Druid too...
-
Rogues are dumb. Stealth skill is increased by simply standing in front of your enemy... stealthed and doing nothing. And mages have invisibility :p they do heavy damage, but thats all they are good for. Very little variation.
-
Well, invisibility AND lots of damage are a start, and not a bad one. ;)
I still have to reach that point of "fun" with my priest - I guess it'll take a few more levels. The spells don't do it yet, my fearsome melee staff is way better. ;)
-

My gnome has a staff that's three times as long as the little Gnome itself...
...
That sounded wrong in oh so many ways. :p;):D
-
Mages do not have invisibility in the release version of WoW. They had in the beta but it was removed.

According to the WoW site (www.wow-Europe.com) they still have it. :)
http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/classes/mage.html to be exact.
-
Eh, hrm, well.
I guess you have a weak spot for melee combat. :p
BTW, I just had a look over various fansites, invisibility indeed seems to have been removed. The official site needs an update. ;)
-
YES!!!! IT ARRIVED! Installing it now! Wohoo!!!
-
Dude, go to the Dunemaul server! I don't know anybody here.. :p
-

Meh, invisibility is pretty much useless anyway with blink, portal and teleport :p it's more a rogue skill anyhow.

Outdated. It says hunters can use shields too, but they can't anymore.
-
I'm having A LOT of trouble getting onto the servers. And if i do it's lagged and i get thrown back to the character selection screen. :doubt:
Is anyone else having problems?
-
yes, servers just died for me too. But we're not supposed to use the same ones, right?
edit: actually, what server are you on?
-
Eh?
Well, I guess it has something to do with the server restart. but since they know it's an EU server, why not do it AT NIGHT!? ugh...
---
In any case, who is up for a new guild? I say we Euro people gather on a single PvP server and create a new characters of the same race. :D
Seriously, who's up for it? ;)
-
I don't like PvP :p
heh, I post after you before you.
Foruums are still screwy I see :p

Why not? It's cool to be on a PvP server. getting involved with raids is the best part of the game. Non-PvP servers are just mindless quest-completing servers (though it can be fun if you have a good guild).
I mean, there is no PvP in friendly areas (unless you enable it). fighting for contested territories and warring against your enemy is FUN!
-
Ok, heading over to Dunemaul. I'm up for a guild on a pvp server. I'll make my Tauren Druid. Or are you Alliance?
-
Ehm, I don't really care but we should all be the same race at least. Ill be a Tauren Shaman.
EDIT: What's your name online? :p

no, what will be your in-game on the Dunemaul server (if you decide to join :p)
EDIT: And i still can't connect :hopping:

I take it you need a CD key for this to work, and this game isn't one that's 'cracked' yet, ne?
-
I don't know, I'll tell you when the character is done, so when the game is back online :p
-
WoW is a pay-per-month system isn't it? It's a pity, I'd probably enjoy these games, but I only believe in paying for a game once. Yes, I know they have servers that need maintaining etc, but I hate getting into installments etc, I always lose track of what I'm paying to who.
-
Oki doki, on Dunemaul as a Tauren Druid called Stewbanga. :D
-
Yes it is, but it's only €12.99 a month. Which is very little for new and quite popular game.
*curses servers for being down*
Also, guys. I would prefer to be on the Alliance side... :p They have better looking races :D (Seriously, I hate it when play an ugly race :p) Although the undead are kinda cool. But Night Elves ROCK! Hehe... ;)
EDIT: Never mind, Dark_4ce already has a Tauren... :( I hate them actually. Too few classes AND they are ugly :p

We are aware of the issues with the login server and will attempt to resolve them as soon as possible. The high amount of players trying to connect to the restarted servers are causing some delay. We apologise for the inconvenience.
:doubt:
-
Well, I'm already doing an elf on the Dalaran server...
-
Yeah, we need to get this sorted out first :p Alliance or Horde, Race, Server.
We could all - *SHOCK* - be Human :p
-
Aaw. Ok. I'm on level three. I can start over.
I can make my tauren guy on another server then. Humans then?
-
humans? can't be hunter, and I like being hunter :p
-
Nico, you arse :p
Ok, what are we going to do? Cuz since a 'certain' person doesn't want to be Human we need to reconsider :p Really, we need to make a decision or it'll never happen...
Server should be Dunemaul. :)
AND I STILL CAN'T LOG IN DAMNIT!
-
I think I'll be a human Paladin. Thats something I heavent tried yet.
-
I could have made a dwarf, dwarfs can be hunters, and can go to storwind easily, but dwarfs are fugly :p
edit: ah, but I know. Let just me check what equipement a rogue can take.
edit2: hargh, no they suck :p
edit3: I'd do a gnome warrior :D That's not so usual :ha:
-

With a Paladin, we'll be next to invincible against mobs :p the buffs and seals totally own for a party. And the Devotion Aura is also awesome for a party (increases armor for all party members in the vicinity).
-
Tis true, I just gotta think of an apropriate name... Perhaps... LOGAN! :D
Edit. Ack, time Warp again.

Be a Warlock... like me :D you'll still have pets only in the form of summons. And Voidwalker totally owns as tank. ;)
And the imp you get around lvl 3 (IIRC) is a nice ranged attacker in the beginning for some additional damage. :)
-
There's an edit3 :p
And I don't like warlocks, that whole soulstone thing is really too annoying for me.
-
We can do Gnomes! i'll still be a Warlock, only now with higher magic damage and more mana. :D
EDOIT: GODDAMN TIMEWARP! It's seriously pissing me off. It's annoying.
-
hey, do you guys have MSN or something? :p it's a bit easier....
-
****, its crappy when you have so many friends that started playing this game and they're all on different servers. :( So I'm pritty much divided by three servers. Shame. But I hopefully spend most my time on Dunemaul and and Aszune. Then theres Stormscale where I'll prolly be an orc.
-
have msn and icq :p
And yeah, I agree with Dark 4ce, I'm the kind of guy who do create on character and ply that one to death, and I'm already fond of my night elf chick, so I'm not super motivated to start all over again :p
-
Gimme your MSN!!!! :p
-
Got MSN as well.
-
Well, I'm a paladin at Dunemaul now. What are your names?
-
Mhmm, maybe I should consider that PVP server stuff. Only tried PvE so far.
What race have y'all decided for, btw?
-
I play on Gilneas, non PvP, and I have 4 characters...
Night Elf Hunter - 32
Night Elf Priest - 22
Human Warlock - 11
Night Elf Warrior - 9
They are all female...
Let's rock.
-
Can you run around naked?
:nervous:
-
Half naked, yes. You still have underwear/bikini on even if you take off all your armor. Heh...it's depressing the amount of 13 year old guys who play night elf girls(ahem, Tin Can :p) and run around with no clothes on. But, I guess you can refute, if guys didn't play girls in these games, there would be no girls.
PvP servers are the only way to go. I wouldn't be able to stand PvE.
-
lol @ the elves.
Yeah?
How exactly do the PvP servers work?
I would of thought you'd just get destroyed by higher level guys straight up?
-
Ok, I've created a female paladin, name Abigail, on server Dunemaul
-

Well, you won't get destroyed in non-contested territory. So, you'll be about level 15-18 or so before you move on to a contested territory. And really, any place until level 30 you won't find many people killing you. When it really gets bad is level 30, at least for alliance, when you go to Arathi Highlands or Strangethorn Vale. Horde are everywhere and will kill you on sight. Once you get to around 38 or so though, you don't get killed as much, instead, you do the killing. That's when it gets really fun. On my level 42 hunter, nobody really attacks me, and if they do, I kick their ass :)
So...yeah...once you're high level and on a PvP server, you'll understand.
